Bah, I wish I wasn't commuting. Half of this year will be spent on a bloody bus. :p Ah well. *trys to find upside* At least I'll have lots of time to listen to music... I guess.

    You're commuting from DUNDALK?!
Oh Christ. Not gonna lie, that'll be tough.

I was commuting from Malahide last year and jumped at moving out this year! And that's just Malahide...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 122 ✭✭DowneyBookGirl

And I'm working any afternoon I have off. :(
But tbh, I think I'll survive. My main reason for commuting and working is purely so I'll be able to move out next year (without completely losing my mind over finances) & I really didn't want to take a gap year in case I got lazy and didn't wanna go back. (trust me, there was a chance of that happening :p) I kind of want to have a nest egg to fall back on before I went looking for work in Dublin.

Having said all that I'm about 90% I'll turn into a total hypocrite and start cursing my decision by like week.... 2.

Yeah i plan i moving out by 2nd year and i only like 10 mins away :P:P

Yeah i'm working weekends but i work nights so i think i'll only do one day during the week any suggestion?!

    EDIT

    uh oh

    few things
    1. don't worry, the online reg system is still young and 'quirky'
    2. don't tell us, tell registry. e-mail onlinereg@dcu.ie , preferably with a screenshot and wait for them to get back to you
    3. your username being locked is no biggie, it'll unlock in a few hours, but the error might still be there, so tell registry about it

Rang registery today as it turns out my fees didn't go through. Just wanted to make sure that was all that was wrong. More than helpful people. Same with fees dept. I'm all sorted. AND my Xbox is en route from Germany all fixed up after three months! :D
    Good times!

It's definitely ours, there's a little note at the bottom of the page saying "Last updated: September 14th 2008"

Damn you! I think you're right, cause now that I think of it every time I checked the timetable it just so happened to be updated on the exact same day :o

Fingers crossed anyway, a class-free Friday would be brilliant

Nope, that's definitely not my class's timetable from last year... we had LCIC on Tuesdays and Media Practice was our first class of the week.

You just may have Fridays off!

Met Debbie Ging (Course Coordinator) yesterday.....asked her about the Timetables....

She indicated that we should not rely on that timetable till at least 9am the Monday morning we are to start, and even then it could change as they are getting it right.

Also a few of us first years are planning on meeting up on Monday at 1pm outside the AIB Bank.....(date and time still provisional)......so anyone up for a pre-orientation gathering let us know, by joining up on the bebo group.!!!

Dude, I don't have bebo! :( (and can't set one up without admitting to my friends that I finally caved on the whole 'social networking' thing) Please don't make me go there. I hate it when they're right.:p
Anyway, if you could post here too that'd be great. I'm totally up for a pre-meet.

Actually I have been exploring the IT Services and this Portal Pages and Moodle are very cool we should be able to set up a twitter later down the rd to keep ppl up to date etc etc etc.

Monday 1pm outside the bank seems to be going down well
