Creatine and Toning up?

    Hi,

    I've just started back in the gym after a year or so off.

    I was running 3-4 days a week up to 6 months ago, and have put on over two stone of flab in the meantime.

    (I'm 5' 11" and 14.25 stone).

    Basically, since i've started back in the gym, i've found i don't have any strength at all and cannot do many reps. I know I could drop the reps, but i want to put on some muscle as well.

    I was wondering if I was to go on creatine, would it help me lift more and do more (and hopefully help burn off some flab!!), or would it only make me put on even more weight?

    I'm back eating healthily again (typical days intake of food would be: porridge for brekkie, Chicken and veg and a potato for Lunch, tuna and veg for supper, protein shake before bed).

    Any help is much appreciated!!!

    p.s. My long term goal is shed 2 -2.5 stone, get back running, and have some decent muscle on me as well.
