How have you watched the first episode - thought it wasnt back until february?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

Seems the first 3 have been released as a dvd screener, but i was going to buy the dvd anyway so the way i see it its alright - you know intent to purchase or whatever, if i could i would already have it pre-booked but its not up on amazon yet

    User45701 - PM Sent ;)

Asking where to download TV shows is not allowed (by PM or otherwise).
Jesus, you could have just PM'ed him and said nothing here.

Must say that it's been an excellent three episodes!

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm glad they moved away from the local tiff with New Bern and onto the more interesting government conspiracy. I'm not going to spoil anything here, but there were some great developments. Top notch stuff. If they wrap it up in the 7 or so episodes, it'll be a good legacy.

For somebody whos named after a recreational drug that produces a high, youre not a very bright spark either.

I asked him how he watched it when it hasnt even been shown on television yet, I did not ask him where. And I left the PM sent message because he was more likely to look at this thread again than notice the 'Unread: 1' in the top corner.

    Sit down.

Don't get smart with me, Archimedes. He said "the first 3 were released as a DVD screener" (answering your question about how he saw it), and you reply with "PM Sent ;)".

You weren't asking him about the weather.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,658 ✭✭✭✭Peyton Manning

He mentioned nothing of DVD screeners in the first post. Despite what you may think, my future predicting abilties arent up to scratch Mr. E.

Care to tell me what else I meant? Because you obviously seem to know.

Dont be so smug - it certainly doesnt suit you.

Come on, man. Going by your post, it was fairly clear that you were going to pm him to ask for links.

Hmm only got around to watching it now, i guess bucked on wine after a watching 3 seasons of black books till 7am isent the best time to try and watch jericho....

Anyway i thought it was great, good to have it back but whenever people talk about the return of jericho and how well the fans did getting it back and all, it just pissed me off, all they did was send bags of nuts to the studio and think of everyhting the firefly fans did, so much more work and it didnt get a 2nd season. Anyway **** it jericho is good and these 3 episodes are well worth a watch and worth picking up on DVD

Yup, thats completely true. Whats wrong with that? Jericho is one of the shows that CBS shows for free on its website, so the OP could have easily watched it there. Nothing illegal about that.

Can't be viewed from outside the US :p

What if he is in the US?

All this talk is runing this here thread on an excellent show so could ya'll just take it to pm or something? :p

I know they only made, what, 10 episodes but is there any chance do you think that this could go into a third season or did they say that 2 was the limit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

There are 7 episodes in this season. If the show is a success, there is a possibility of more.

    http://jerichoboard.cbs.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=CBSMBJericho&tid=13329

From June 6th last year, Nina Tassler, President of CBS:
Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,081 ✭✭✭BKtje

    Cheers Mr E.

Only seven, almost half way already !

Archimedes obviously shouldn't have posted anything implicitly to do with torrents but Mr. E, when you call someone "not too bright", how can you expect them not to take offense? I would apologise for that but that's just me. It annoys me when I see Mods insulting people with impunity, even if they have some cause. It only fosters resentment. My two cents.

Back on topic, I had no idea Season 2 had started. I'm really looking forward to watching them, I thought the first season was quite slow, boring in parts but showed enormous potential.

Fair point, Maximilian, I removed the insult, and I apologise to Archimedes.

Now back to the discussion. :)

I don't know how to do it myself but apparently if you go though a US proxy its ok. **** those kunts anyway. I hate almost all companies as there competitions are bollox and are always limited so **** em. There just being discriminating little ****ers because they think its too much work to establish legal frame work for worldwide competitions but in fact its just a small ammendment that
"You can only participate in said competition if you have read and understand local legal obligations/laws and how they may or may not effect said competition" or something like that.

I mean since i was a kid ive always wanted to enter into lots of online competitions but couldn't, only one when i got a personal invite to beta test a game because the beta test was for US residents only but due to my in forum activity i got a invite from the community manager. Why does nationality/race or anything even matter in the Internet? i know there are some people who still think that race/religion/sexual orientation/nationality matters in t he world but it does not and it definatly does not matter on the net so **** them. I buy my DVDs and i can download whatever the **** i want because as i have said before i could claim intent to purchase, they would say wheres your evidence and i would say are you ****ing blind? the only shows i have downloaded are shows/movies/games that where not given worldwide release days so **** off, ill buy it when it gets released.

EDIT: Hmm i just realised this topic really is going well off course. But my point stands. If they wont be fair - ****em. Buy your DVD or VHS (lol) your bluray, your HD DVD your direct to drive, your Itunes or wherever other means you can legally obtain the rights to a show and if anyone ever has a go at you for downloading explain it to them.

    right.......

Anwyays, I thought they were frickin class. I also thought that for a program that is network television, there were some important questions
asked about how governments act during times of crisis (no elections, slant on history etc.). All that stuff about J&R seemed like a pop at the U.S Govt.'s involvement with Haliburton.

Anyone else think that the hype around Jericho could be what kills it? So many people in the US have probably now torrent'd these 3 episodes, that the viewing figures for the episodes could be dramatically lower than had they not been leaked. Thus, hurting the chances of any further episodes after the initial 7.

I don't think so due to the way the ratings actually work, which is not something people actually consider. Its run by Nielson's in the US (you've probably heard of Neilson ratings) and they have about 5k households that they use to make the ratings through extrapolation, the science(!) of statistics and such. The families are carefully selected and paid. I would doubt that any of them download what they watch. They probably have to watch a certain amount of TV. Tough job!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

actualll i thought these where released on the net early to spead a "buzz" about the show to increase ratings and DVD sales, like many other shows, dexter, weeds, prison break, stargate bsg ect ect ect, i doubt ther eis that many people in different studios all rising there jobs just to put stuff on the net

Thats exeatly what i used to do when i was young and first started drinking because i would download but i still wanted my ratings to count (was young and couldent afford DVD's) so i used to leave my tv running if a show i downloaded was going to be airing a new episode but i didnt know that what i watch didnt count.

unless they have hidden cameras, gps monitoring devices, tinfoil hats, satellites and what not. Maybe a button that needs to be physically pressed every 10 minutes or an explosive device is triggered. I for one welcome our new Nielson-Rating overlords.

No hard feelings mate, I apologise too.

Couldn't stay made at a fellow Jericho fan! Criminally under-rated sow that has is often judged on the slow pace of the first few episodes. Ive always said that the second half of season 1 is some of the best television Ive seen...

It is very good but I don't think the second half of season 1 had a patch on Dexter. I just hope that the people who were put off by the first few episodes of season 1 catch an episode or two of this season (if it's as good) and get hooked. If they do they might get the dvd and so help ensure the future of the program.

Any who I've just gotten the three episodes so I'll probably watch them tomorrow. I'm not gonna watch them tonight as I'll just end up watching the 3 of them and I really should go to bed soon.

Watched the first two, liked them. Keeping the story ticking over nicely. Gonna watch the third one tonight if I get a chance.

Finally, somewhere I can discuss it.
I asked for Jericho forum but was pointed to boards.tv, but there isnt as much discussion there.
Absolutely loved it. I know I am a girl and it's typical of me to say this but I LOVE the Stanley and IRS lady relationship/storyline...
The J&R stuff is DEFINITELY linked to some sort of american corporation, I'd definitely believe that.
I think they're relying a lot on the new charachters to break / betray. I think it's relistic that that would happen considering what actually happened in the world, but its a lot to expect from brand new charachters (blonde girl in J&R and Army Chief).
The relationship between Jake and Hawkins is interesting - constantly forced to trust each other and carry the burden.

I think the biggest attraction about this show is its charachters. They're well acted and completely likeable/loveable especially given the situation. I *really* miss Johnston tho... Like, I actually miss him. I think the actors suffer a bit without him to bounce off. THOUGH, on the upside, Gray Anderson is slightly more bareable this season.

I really think this is a great series. It doesnt have the same suspense as Dexter which I also love, but I think it is better in different ways. I really really hope they get a full series.

I have seen them also, and thought they were absolutely brilliant...... I want a full season!

How many are out there? I have 3 and have watched 2 of them so far. I am liking the direction this season has taken.
losing the parents (even though I liked the father),but overall it is good for the show. Losing the 2 annoying teenage whingebags (for now anyway) and moving away from the fighting towns to the conspiracy and bring down the new government. Hawkins is by far the best thing about this show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

There are 3 out..... one of the teenage whingebags is back in Ep 3, but he has grown up a bit.

Ye I spoke too soon! :p Just watched the episode there and in fairness he was less annoying and is only billed as a "special guset star",not a regular anymore, which means he hopefully will not be around as much.

From the first 3 episode I really like where the show is going. Hopefully it will get more than the 7 episodes.

I have to admit hating how that charachter was protrayed, but I do think its realistic. There will always be oppertunists who'll take advantage when others are weak. I thought it was a clever part in terms of the story regardless of how annoying him and Skylar (waht a name) are.

Regarding the possible continuation of the show, I guess it's up to the fans to buy any dvd releases that might come our way to push up the numbers, and keep it alive. Not to sound like such a f0cking fanboy, but let's not let it turn into a firefly folks. I'm a serial watcher via-means-who-must-not-be-named but I'd buy anything that was going of this, already ordered season one, and have bought and given box sets of Firefly.

Same i have countless copies of serenity and 3 or 4 firefly dvd's, i bought family guy when it was cancelled, same with jericho, so many shows, and in general i will buy what i can when i can. Some shows i hold off on things like BSG, season 1 in HDDVD keep getting delayed :( i have to pick up house and season 6 of scrubs is out. there is allot to buy though... i feel bad for watching 6 seasons of the shield and 6 seasons of sopranos, about the only shows i have DL'ed and not bought but they are on my list im recovering from stupid spending now

Does anybody know how many episodes there will be in this series after the writer's strike?
I love that Ravenwood is back and Constaintine is out and about again. No sign of the mother yet. Maybe she left the show? Hawkins is still walking around like he owns the place. Shouldn't that dude be hiding? The major will surely change too. He's too soft.

Good show. Episode 4 should be middle of February right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Episode 1 is Feb 12th, so by my calculations, Episode 4 will be March 4th.

    Lol, hate when that happens.

Watched 4, thank goodness for the reminders the start, it was so long since I saw the first 3 eps. This episode flew along at a cracking pace. Great stuff. These short seasons are really working out great.

Very good episode. I liked how they left you hanging after the gun fight, only letting you hear the last couple of shots being fired without seeing anything.

Definitely setting it up for an all-out war between Jericho and J&R.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 987 ✭✭✭ekevosu

great ending to the episode. Its going to be tight enough finishing it in 3 episodes, definitely needs a few more.

The actress who plays the mother is no great loss if she doesn't come back as she has very little function without her husband and annoys me anyway.

    Really enjoyed episode 4.

Hawkins' mysterious friend is really adding some, heh, mystery to the proceedings with that
    doomsday scenario report he wrote.

Gunfight was well put together with the muffled sound, from Bonnie's POV.

Aside, I think Hawkins is running out off ppl to nick File X from the sheriff's office for him :)

    Good 4th episode,
my the way things were going I reckoned someone would die and I was hoping it would be that annoying kid Dale and his annoying little girlfriend. I was happy they were shipping him off to some prison without trial but then of course they have to save him  :p Sad to see Bonnie die but it sets it up for all out war. Should be good.
