Leinster are looking very good so far. 23 minutes gone and it is 3 - 0 to Leinster.

Toulouse have had one attack, and they looked very dangerous.

Toulouse have now had a yellow card.

Pelous should have been going to the bin for that. It was a professional foul five metres from the line. Consistency ref!

Good, controlled rugby from Leinster so far. Individual errors have stunted their attacks but it's encouraging work at the set piece.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

It would be nice to see the backs coming into play a bit more.

One more penalty and they will be down to 13 players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Great try. First time they have used the backs in the 22 and they have gone over.

    Super finish from Fitzgerald.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

Great ****ing try, was a long time coming. Leinster completely putting Toulouse away so far. Penalty count of 7 from Toulouse, 0 from Leinster.

The only problem so far is the scoreboard. Leinster have been so dominant but only put up 10 points.

Keane is looking good at scrum half. The best I have seen him play.

39 minutes on the clock and 76% possession to Leinster! Need to turn it into points.

    Stuck in work!

Anyone got any links for me to watch it? Don't have access to Setanta/Sky sports etc.

    10 - 3 at half time.

Missed tackle from Keane could have been costly.

    Great turnover drom D'Arcy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

    WOW!!!

High risk rugby, but that is awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

    Huge let off there.

    That was a definite try.

Toulouse have 77% possesion in the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Toulouse look so dangerous every time they get the ball out to the backs.

I get the feeling if they score one try, the floodgates could open.

    Penalty to Toulouse. 10 - 6.

Stupid work: Can't install real player :(

Have scoured the office and manged to scavange a radio, crap reception but it will have to do.

Awesome try for Leinster. Fitzgerald the scorer, but brilliant hands from Contepomi and O'Driscoll, and also O'Kelly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Conversion is good. 17 - 6 to Leinster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

More magic from Contepomi, but a poor pass to Fitzgerald lets him down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Leinster get in for a try, but it is called back for a forward pass. Looked like it was about two yards forward from Girv.

Good work from Stan Wright though to be in the position to finish it.

I thought that first up, but when it showed it from the reverse angle it looked like a bullet being thrown past Fitzgerald.

I can feel an interception coming up very soon!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

    Try for Toulouse. 17 - 13.

It is sort of irrelevant. Leinster still need two more tries regardless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

    17-13. Bollocks?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Great run from Dempsy. From the half way into the twenty two.

Leinster have a scrum 15 metres from the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,324 ✭✭✭✭Cathmandooo

    Leinster cant fall asleep now!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Just heard the commentator say that Toulouse have a €17 million budget!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Tough call from the Ref there. They appeared to come off the head of the Toulouse player, rather than a knock on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Into stoppage time now. Six minutes of it though!

Great run from Cian Healy there! I thought Jennings was taken high.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,249 ✭✭✭Stev_o

I say Leicester fans are doing the math now with this result

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,324 ✭✭✭✭Cathmandooo

oooh drop goal by felipe, good man, pity bout the beard!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

Drop goal from Felipe. Are they going for the win, or to stop Toulouse getting the bonus point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

20-13. No bonus point. Good finish (so far) by Leinster.

Last lineout now, would love to see a try to deny Toulouse the losing BP.

EDIT: Nope, finishes at 20-13. Why the **** did we lose to Edinburgh!!!!

It is a bonus point for Toulouse though which is bad. Need another score.

One more play! Give us a penalty ... PLEASE!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

And thats it. Leinster win, but Toulouse get a bonus point. Any mathematicians out there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

    Toulouse 15
    Leinster 12
Leicester 9 (one game in hand)
Edinburgh 5 (one game in hand)

Leinster are dependent on Edinburgh beating Toulouse, and then have to beat Leicester next week.

Right so its Leinster...... *does the real maths of it*

    Played Well
    Played Awful
    Played Well
    Played Awful
    Played Well
And match number 6 is Leicester so by going by this trend Leinster will play terrible at Welford Road....

easy peasey :D fingers crossed anyway! Anyone picturing FitzGerald getting a good talking to from BOD after the game?

I was very impressed with Fitzgerald. He made a bit of a cockup near the end, but he's a great little finisher. We'll be seeing plenty of him in a green jersey very soon.

Good performance overall by Leinster, but a 4-1 win is hardly any use at this stage. They needed a 5-0, and that was always going to be a tall order against Toulouse. All Toulouse have to do is win at home v Edinburgh. Thats a given by my reckoning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,324 ✭✭✭✭Cathmandooo

yeah FitzGerald did play well other than his cockup

what was the newbies name that came on at half time? he seems to have good potential

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,160 ✭✭✭randomer

If Leinster got the 5 point win, then they would have required Edinburgh to stop Toulouse getting a four try bonus point next week.

Not it just means that they need Edinburgh to beat Toulouse.

He gave away a penalty in his first or second scrum, but after that he looked very good. He is surprisingly fast for a prop. He made a great run into the twenty two and nearly set up a try.

Leinster just don't travel, and thats their downfall. They didn't lose it today, they lost their chance when Edinburgh beat them.

I don't think they are that bad away?

They beat Munster away this year, and Toulouse in the quarters two years ago?

yeah but he is still pretty inexperienced, playing beside BOD and contepomi et al. he'll definatey come into his own and fulfil al lthe potential he has. he has a few irish caps under his belt, and i can definatley see him getting many more

One is the Magners, and the other happened 2 years ago. If they can't win away, they won't make the knockout stages. It's their achilles heel.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 28,970 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Leinster's achilles heel is their inconsistency, it has little to do with where they are playing. For some reason Edinburgh are Leinster's bogey team, but that aside they haven't lost any games away that I would have expected them to win. Losing in Toulouse is hardly something to be ashamed of (though the manner of defeat was irritating).

And while the Munster game was only the Magners, it was still a hard-fought interprovincial match.
