Do you mean university courses? UCD have a new course called Human Nutrition, which you might want to investigate. I'm not sure what the point requirements are, though I know you need higher level maths.

TCD/DIT do a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics and UCC also have a BSc in nutritional science. There's a variety of naturopathy nutrition/ diet courses available around the country too, a Google search could tell you more. There's also an MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science through the NTC http://www.ntc.ie/index_nutrition.php

Cheers for info. So hunnymonster i think i have heard of that course, my question regarding it isss that dont u need to have chemistery done to gain entry into the course? Or what are the requirments. Is it a 4 yr degree course?

Yes it is a 4 year degree with a 6 month paid placement in the 3rd year. You do not need chemistry but you do need a laboratory science (physics, chemistry, biology, physics with chemistry, ag science....) In the first year however, you will need to cover the basics in the physical sciences so Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, maths methods are all on the curriculum.

i did the nutritional science course for 4 yrs in UCC. there are 7 different colleges in the UK where you could do a postgrad in dietetics and one in Coleraine. about 10 people in my class got into the a postgrad in dietetics. it is by no means easy to get into one though because there is an interview process and strong competition for places. you have to have at least a 2:1 degree to even apply for alot of them. outside of nutritional sales jobs there are no jobs for specifically nutrition in ireland at the moment! i recommend to look into undergraduate dietetics degrees in england for anyone who doesnt have the points and are absolutely positive its dietetics that they want to do.
