Finally managed to find this damn thread! This happened to me today. Asked for a $10 top up to send my Glock 19. Was extremely skeptical about the yahoo mail address. Then I vaguely remembered this thread..

Nice one guys. You saved me a headache :)

Would it not be cheaper to get it here after the customs get their way with it?

Did you go for the metal slide version, it makes all te difference when firing it.
The KJ Glock 23 and 32 sold in MIA are the same as the Glock 19 but they don't have the trigger safety of the KWA/KSCs.

The 19s seem to be hard to get here though, I prefare the feel of the full size Glocks myself, just can't get a good hold of the smaller ones.

The reason I didn't buy it here was because nobody seemed to have the KSC model anywhere unfortunately.

Went for the bare bones ABS slide one. I'm going to pick up a metal slide in a little while. From an Irish retailer if possible.

Didn't buy the KJW g23 one as you were saying, it doesn't have the trigger safety. Fired hivemind's one and it was a pretty nice shooting experience. That one little thing turned me off though.

Price wise, the KJW is only about 15 or 20 euro cheaper than a KSC (Or KWA) g19 with a metal slide. So I really don't see why people would chose a clone over one of the best brand names to save so little. (Or am I missing something when working out the price?)

I've only fired a g23 and g19. Haven't had a go at a larger one yet. Didn't notice any problems or discomfort. Although, I wasn't really paying that much attention....was a little distracted by the dual wielding madness :D

totaly off topic but i got the Kwa 18c ,none of the irish retailers had the metal slide version, weird though metal slides costs around 50 euro with out decent markings

Ehobby have a metal slide for the g19..would work out about 40 euro I think. Annoying thing is, the stock photo is of the right side. So you can't see the markings.

I'd be well pissed if I paid 40 odd euro for a slide without the proper logo.

I heard that the ones they sell come without trades even if they have it in the pic, aparently they say it will either be a blank one or filed off as they have no licence from glock., My hicapa was suposed to have engravings and it came perfectly smooth.,

Glock threatened them with lawsuits alright. So they put a really bad G on the slide instead.

I was under the impression though that aftermarket slides would have the proper logo as some of them would be made by other companies.

Just checked uncompany and they have a slide for $63 with all the markings. Must send them an email and ask about it.

Actually yeah, this is all getting very off topic.

Time to make a glock thread! :D

That's really annoying actually. Were they filed off or was it just a blank slide?

was just blank,., think it was on arnies that i read someone got one that was filed.,lol id be major pissed off if they sent me some filed down piece of sh*t.,lol.,
suppose if you cant get a metal one with trades you could always get it engraved., thats what im going to do but have to find out if they can copy trades on their machine.,

Doesnt say if they leave the trades on it though, with some sites its only when you go to the checkout part that they say it., at first i thought it would be just for legal reasone and that they'd just send you one with trades but i dunno now.,lol

That's actually a pretty good idea. Never thought of it. Although yeah, there might be odd copywrite issues with trademarks. Plus you might have a bit of trouble getting them to do a pistol slide.

That's more than likely due to the American copywrite law which means trades must be removed from all airsoft products before they enter the country.

Shouldn't have anything to do with the rest of the world. At least I hope not.

Heh you'll end up with your trademarks in fancy scrolled joined writing like the jewelers do it.

    Not completly true
glocks went through many different designs
Some for the men some for girls/glock 23 26
(to go with the whole compact design)
but for the true lazy man it has to be G18
why pull the trigger many times to empty the clip on someone
    when you can pull
it once an empty the whole thing in one go

    From U.S. Marshalls @ Imdb

Sam Gerard: [Referring to the Glock as he is changing magazines] These things are so cool. They can shoot underwater, pour sand in them and they'll shoot. They shoot every time.

Sam Gerard: Keep it in your suit unless I tell you to take it out. Get yourself a Glock and lose that nickel-plated sissy pistol.

    priceless dude....

i cant find a metal ksc for anything other then a kings ransom....

but i do have a glock kjw (i think). very reliable. yes it looks as if the 1960's volvo car designer got a new job designing for glock or his 10 year old son did...but for some strange reason i actually like it. its dead boring but i suppose that the attraction

It's a high cap 9MM. You know why that is? It's because you have to shoot the bugger twice just in case he didn't notice the first one.

It's small, black and square. - Great for evening wear, but pants in a side arm.

It's got lines that only Pablo Picasso could love. And he was drunk most of the time.

The Austrians are famous for Glocks and Leaderhosen. The jury is out on which one looks stupider.

It was designed as a joke, that nobody ever got.

i bought a fully abs g17 from mia for €70 and i have no complaint if your looking for a decent glock i suggest the 17:D:D;):)

Oh ... you hurt my feelings. And there the only ones I've got.

The Airsoft Glocks are known for being cut down in power, generally around 235-265, which is about 30-40 fps slower than a lot of the 1911's and Baretta, but it puts them on a par with nearly everything else.

The Glocks though are far more useful as a tactical pistol in airsoft with a range of accessories available for combat scenarios rather than racing. How many 1911's do you see with lasers or flashlights?

So for practical airsoft the 1911 is probably best since there is a wealth of bits available for the internals. The glock is the better tactical pistol because it is simple, adaptable and used properly, wont let you down.

The clincher in this arguement of "does the glock look crap" is ... Have you seen the Desert Eagle?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 8,679 Mod ✭✭✭✭Rew

DE's are joke, far to powerfull and big to ever be usefull. USP's and Sigs and other pistols have as much available for them as glocks and how usefull is any of the flashlights and lasers in practice?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,401 ✭✭✭Shiva

How many 1911's do you see with lasers

None, because the IAA have interpreted current legislation as making mounting a laser on an airsoft device illegal.

I can refer you to a member of the commitee if you require clarification ? :D

Edit: I should point out that my comment on the lasers and flashlights thing was a reference to the kit in the real world.

This is one of the most devisive topics I've ever seen on here. There's only one way to settle this argument.

    HRTA.

    Two teams.

Those that like glocks (carrying their chosen glock)

Those that don't (carrying their pretty guns)

Last gun standing wins the debate.

I'd like to point out that I dislike Glocks, 1911's and Berettas.
