I got one and brought it back. Thats the handy thing with argos, no-quibble returns.

I found it a little noisey, more clunky, wanted to use it upstairs. I couldnt get up a sweat while using it either. I would sooner get a skipping rope.

I cycle to work for cardio and do no specific cardio work other than walking around to shops etc.

If you want to lose fat I would highly recommend a weights set, and not pink dumbells proper ones.

It is the only stepper I ever used, so I cannot compare, you can always try it and return it within the 16days.

thanks for that. I don't want to loose fat as I am a size 8/10, just want to tone up!

Well if you see women that you consider "toned", it usually a combination of relatively low body fat and relatively high muscle. I am not talking of women bodybuilders, you would need to be in a gym all day and taking steroids to look like them!

But if you see women on infomercials for steppers they are usually fitness models, and they mostly likely got that "toned look" from lifting heavy weights, and not from using the gadget they are trying to sell.

Doing lots of simple bodyweight squats would probably result in more toning than using a stepper, and it will make you work up a sweat! and is free and probably more beneficial overall.

To "tone up" the same advice still stands, the set of weights above would be a great buy. To "tone up" you need 2 things, to build muscle and to lose body fat - if you are already slim then you need to build muscle. When you picture somebody who you consider "toned" I promise you that they used weights to look like that. Cardio-bunnies don't get toned, they get improved cardiovascular fitness

Dont worry - you're not going to look like a bodybuilder (I assume you are female and any mention of weights raises this fear - but it shouldn't, do you have any idea how much effort that would take).

A women needs to train as if she wants to be the biggest strongest bodybuilder in the world, just to look toned and fit. It takes amazing genetics, incredible attention to diet and training, and years of hard work for a women to look muscular.

Believe me, if lifting heavy weights made you look masculine, I'd look like Arnie by now. Instead, I'm still working hard just to look more like Nigella Lawson than Nigel.
