Healthy Night Snacks

    I have dropped two stone to now weigh 18st 6 but have along way to go.I need to eat at night as i work the night shift but am stuck to find something which gives energy and is healthy.Any help would be great

    Try rice cakes. I find them quite tasteless so you might want to get the one's with chocolate and cocnut on them:D

    I think the best way to handle a nightshift is to eat exactly as if it was a normal day.
    Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
    Avoid snacking altogether, as your judgement is poor fronm tirednss.

    Just make up an extra dinner or eat whatever you normally would as a snack.

    The time of day shouldn't dictate the foods you eat (unless you're getting up or going to bed and various other situations etc etc).

    Hell I have boiled chicken for breakfast everyday.

    A top tip from me would be porridge and warm milk ,helps you sleep =)

    Ricecakes are pretty high GI, definitly don't think they are late night snack material.

    I usually have some chicken fillets in the fridge, very nice nibbling material.
    A tin of tuna is nice too, if you want to add some stuff to that without much prep just throw in some scallions, chopped tomatoes, baby spinage leaves (taste like lettuce but nutritionally so much better) and cottage cheese and drizzle some balsamic vinager (very mild taste) on top, you will feel like you are spoiling yourself and you will be..but in a good way!
    Zero prep time and tastes nice.
    I like bean sprouts too but they go off pretty quick so need to be eaten within a couple of days of purchase.

    I bought the yoghurt / chocolate topped rice cakes are quite high calorie I think. I ate 8 of the yoghurt ones recently (in front of tv.) before I realised I had eaten 500 calories!! and full of sugar

    I just want to point out that not everthing that appears healthy is! I had assumed all rice cakes where healthy when they obviously aren't
