Hey all, got a question which should be pretty easy...what would be recommended to work in a gym environment, as in qualifications etc...

I'm working towards some right now, with hard work i'll get them but need info as to what i should expect to have under my belt to look for work in this area. TY

I posted something like this before, the thread is http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055163538&highlight=fitness+qualification, there were one or two replies in there that might help you.

I am currently looking to Change Careers and I'm quiet interested in Becoming a Fitness Instructor.

Where can I do this and is there any good websites to help me get started?

Currently I am unable to swim so obviously this would need to be looked at but I'm willing to learn.

I can't really help you but I know that west park fitness in tallaght run a coarse with some college (I think its at night too so you cn keep up the day job)- you might look at their web site. This is something I have considered but have done nothing about it so it will be interesting to see the responses. Does anybody have any idea what an instructer earns?

Well i'm currently doing THIS COURSE so i'm gonna have to recommend it, pretty good so far and making good progress but i'm not sure if the course contents would be enough to start working in a gym, maybe would have to build up a bit more experience in the area. Hence my original topic question still stands :)
