There are just too many to mention. My favourite YouTube clip is Issues:

There are so many great ones, it's hard to pick any favourites. I love the live version of the Bowie Song, its way better than the version on the show.

Beautiful Girl, Bret, You Got It Going On and Inner City Pressure are some other favourites.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,625 ✭✭✭✭BaZmO*

If You're Into It, Business Time, Jenny, and the French Song all crack me up.

Plus, all jokes aside, they are actually great tunes.

Well obviously Business Time is the old classic-
    http://bebo.com/watch/1480787768

    Jenny's brilliantly cringey though-

And my favourite song from the series has to be Bret, you got it goin on-

My favourite episodes are 6 and 10-

    Flight of the Conchords rule!

I've only just discovered it on youtube. Can't believe I missed it when it was on BBC4. Although, as an aside, BBC4??!! WTF? They get one of the best and most original comedies in years and bury it on BBC-bloody-4! Sorry.

It's so hard to pick individual songs, so I'll pick bits of songs. In "Issues (Think About It), I love the "What man, which man, what makes a man a man. Am I a man? Yes, technically I am." bit. Also, the bit about sneakers being too expensive considering they're made by slave children.

I also love the "Did Steve tell you that perchance? Hmmm... Steve!" bit in "Hiphopapotomous vs Rhymenocerous". I love all FotC but those are two small wee bits that crack me up every time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,081 ✭✭✭BKtje

Delighted to see that more people are getting into FotC. I been harping on about them to my friends for ages but only gotten a few who have actually checked em out. Most of them love them though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,041 ✭✭✭Brian CivilEng

Has to be the song that alterted me to their existance, Albi the Racist Dragon. About five years ago David O'Doherty used to perform a cover version of it and always credited them, he's the reason I checked them out in the first place.

Did you know that Flight of the Conchords were the first ever headliners in Kavanagh's comedy Club in Portlaoise back in 2003!

Wow glad I found this thread. Had heard one or two people mention these guys favourably, but having watched some of the live performances, I must say I am enjoying them alot.

"The Humans are Dead" is a masterpiece of comic writing, as is the touching love song "If that's what you're into".

Just recently started watching them - so many great bits from the show and songs.

One of my favourites has to be the Pet Shop Boys inspired 'Inner City Pressure\

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RC0DdrHbGg

"The manager, Bevin, starts to abuse me,
Hey man I just want some muesli" :D

Also their acid-trip song is great. Bret's face just makes me laugh.

How do you know who the songs were inspired by? Heard there's a few songs/vids inspired by other artists

Well I listen to music. And when they do a song that sounds like another band I've heard I figure in my noggin "Hey that sounds a lot like XXX, I bet that's what they're going for there."

    Easy really.

It's called "Part Time Model" - classic stuff!

    "You're a legend Dave...!"
Of course there's also the classic "Ladies of the World":
It's called "World Music". One of my faves! "It's got to be sweet 16, not M16s" - lol
How do you know who the songs were inspired by?
    Just listen to them.
Also their acid-trip song is great.
"Prince of Party" - great video!
One of my favourites has to be the Pet Shop Boys inspired 'Inner City Pressure\
    "City Life".
If You're Into It, Business Time, Jenny, and the French Song all crack me up.
    "Croissant" - another gem!!

BTW - not being a cock correcting people - I presume people would prefer to know the names. I have all the tracks, and they're the 'official' song names!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9 sinkin

It's actually called "Something Special For The Ladies" from Folk The World Tour - Live Album

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41 Snake Nose

They renamed it for the TV series.

Wow. Thank goodness I can now properly enjoy FotC now that I know all the names the songs have ever had.

Seriously, let's not start down this road.

Just discovered FoTC recently. It had me in tears laughing!

My fave is definitely the rhymenocoros vs the hiphopopotamus. I liked it so much I changed my tagline!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭SteveDPirate

FotC is the funniest TV show I've seen in a long time. I don't think there's any song I don't like.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Frodo Don't Wear The Ring. That cracks me up.:pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 211 ✭✭Dr.Slurm

Glad to see FotC are getting the recognition they deserve!

I remember a few favourite tv show moments of mine:

    - Jemaine's idea for a band poster:
    p4416256reg.jpg

    - Pretty much any scene with Dave in it.

E.g. When Jemaine goes missing, possibly dead - Dave: Hey guys, remember that time he got his hand caught in that jar? What a dick. I mean, who gets their hand caught in a jar? What a big ****ing asshole he was.

    or

Dave: I think you've gotta use honesty here... I mean...you know... it's always the best policy. Like, the other day there was five... well maybe there was like four... really hot foreign chicks (either like Swedish or Korean) in my shop, and they were like "Dave, we wanna have a five way with you." I just told them, "Honestly, Okay."

Favourite Song: Inner City Pressure. Genius.

    Hmm, in having only watched the first four episodes I don't have many scenes to choose from.......best so far? BINARY SOLO......or no wait, the Hiphop-potamus Vs Rhymenocerous. I always wet myself at the following line;

    Jemaine:
    They call me the Hiphopopotamus
    Flows that glow like phosphorous
Poppin' off the top of this esophagus
    Rockin' this metropolis
    I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal
Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis?
Did Steve tell you that, perchance?
    Steve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I think Jemaine's first lines in that song are funnier....

    They call me the hiphopoptamus
    My lyrics are bottomless
    Emmm.... *cough*

Mutha Uckas is my favourite - He's gonna wake up in a smoothie!

Check out the BBC Radio series if you can come across it it's brilliant same kind of thing except they're based in London - Rob Brydon narrates and Neil Finn even pops up every now and again!

Alas, I knew there had to be an FOTC thread somwhere on boards! :D

I love Murray!! "You look like a pair of cool looking idiots!"

Murray: "I'm so angry, I could swear!!"
Bret "Awh you wouldn't swear at us Murray!"
Murray: "Go fcuk yourself Bret!!" lol oh I loves it

Fave song would have to be 'The French Song' with Albi the Racist Dragon a close second. Or Inner City Life. What happened to those other underpants you had?! hehehe
