    • Hang from a pull up bar
    • Bring your knees up to your shoulders
    • Continue to pull your knees up and lean backwards so that your knees come between your hands, and your ankles & feet go over your head
    • The end state is that you have completed a full roll, but are still hanging on to the bars
    • You then have to reverse the roll to get back to the original hanging position

I have seen one or two guys doing these in my gym and would like to try it, but would be wary of loosing my grip and landing on my head mid roll.

Could not find any youtube clips, so hope you can picture what I mean.

Myself and JayRoc's sister used to do this on rings in her back garden when we were eight... does that count??

Its called skinning the cat and is a conditioning exercise on rings. I can do it with with straight body all the way through tis fairly simple.

This is the best vid i found on youtube but the people shoulders aren't as flexible as should be as you should end up pretty much in a straight hang with arms twisted when done properly

Thanks for the links and name. I must have had one deprived childhood.

Yep as mentioned, after reading up on "skin the cat" it is apparently easy enough. I can do a good few dips and pull ups so will try this sometime soon. If I don't report back you can assume I landed on my head.

I can do it on rings, tried it once on a static bar, never again!, restricts the hands too much at the end, couldnt get back again, had to drop off which was not nice.

With rings you can lower them so the fall is not too much if you are trying any new/crazy stuff

another tip which looks cool and is easy is to go all the way through then let go of one hand and you rotate around your hand back to the start

edit: btw the bottom postion with your arms twisted is a great eqi for the anterior shoulder if you go as far as you can and hold it
