I want to send my wife and her friend to a spa for a day of pampering & relaxation. Does anybody have any good recommendations for one in the leinster area. Thanks Ger.

Killashee House! Myself and my sisters and sisters in law had a day there. Great treatments, not too expensive either. Not been to any others so can't pass opinion on them.

The mandala spa on Dawson st. Amazing! Expensive but totally worth it!

There's also the Brook lodge in Wicklow. When she is finished with her treatments, take her to the Strawberry Tree restraunt there. Tres yum :)

Ok its not techinically in Leinster but Ive been to loads of spa's around Ireland and the Spirit one spa in the Radisson in Galway beats them all hands down.
It would be the ultimate treat for any women who loves being pampered!

Agreed with the Marriot, stayed there for a night during the summer the place is great.

Brook lodge also, could be hard to get bookings though.

I was there and it was only ok. Since then I've become a huge fan of the Temple Spa in Moat, Westmeath. It is an amazing place and couldn't recommend it highly enough. I generally go for a weekend stay.

wasn't quite sure and didn't want to look it up :p. I took my wife there for 2 days because we were both too tired and she was soon to have a baby. it was just amazing!!

The Monart is lovely but very expensive.

dont mean to sound like a meany but all these spa breaks are very expensive!! i was looking at booking the hudson bay in Athlone for two nights at the weekend in January and it would be less expensive to travel to Budapest with aer lingus and stay in a top class hotel!! any thoughts?

I agree with the above poster. While a spa break for two is a lovely thought, and there is nothing like a bit of pampering, the cost of a weekend away can be steep enough for a couple.

I've been in the Free Spirit in Drogheda, but only for a manicure.
The staff are v nice. They have a few branches in Dublin.

They do men's treatments too, so maybe treat yourself brother!

Has anyone been into the spa in Carton House in Maynooth? If so, what do you recommend?

I've been to Powerscourt Springs twice and loved it.

Don't do the cheapskate on a spa treatment, I got the flu from a really dodgy private spa treatment booked by the hubby for my birthday. It was a nightmare from the start. The room was freezing, the music wasn't your usual relaxing eastern music, instead I had to bear an hour of Ricky Martin, they used water instead of hot oils, and the masseur had a mouth like a sailor, f**king bertie ahern this, the weather is a f**king disgrace etc etc. I arrived home a nervous wreck.
