Get your nominations in for this one.

It can be anyone you want, Live, online, Irish, Lebanese, whatever.

Who in your opinion was the best Poker player last year.

I have a feeling this may get out of hand so I think I'll just say whoever you nominate must be seconded by someone else.

Nominations close on Friday 21st December 2007 at ~13:00

[for him] Winning the Macau Main Event was probably one of the greatest poker achievements of all time;)

really? he posted a sick monthly graph at 50/100 for 1m which was just a straight line up a couple of months ago, i honestly thought he was a winner at those stakes for ages.

i used to read his blog all the time and remember him moving up and down fairly frequently, the first time being very early in the year IIRC. right after he bought that really sick car he went on a huge downswing and had to grind 10/20 for like 2-3 months.

having said that he's clearly an extremely sick player. i was just wondering why VD would choose him over other HS regs who have played nosebleed more consistantly.

I remember, but that was last year.
Marty has had a great year and fair play to him but for me,big up the little norwegian girl.

Best player of the year is a wide ranging subject. its hard to pick out one based on form, but the dragon has been hot this year.

Phil Hellmuth broke the bracelet record this year(in case anyone hasn't heard:D)

And Jerry Yang came from being the short stack at the ft to winning the big bracelet(i know i know, it was god really, and he let everyone know:D:D)

But seriously, the performance of Michael Muldoon this year have to be the best of the year. He is able to read the cards or something, he always seems to win the big pots. :D:D:D

And what about an award for best poker tour.
I vote for the cpt, the most generous tour, with so much respect for their customers that they guarantee a prize pool, i mean how many times has there been an overlay in their tournaments?:D:D:D:D

back on topic... I dont really keep up to date with the world players all that much but I kinda like hellmuth and I'll give him a seconding
