Betting in running on darts.

    Never really tried it before.
Gave it a good 45 mins on Mardle vs Carver.
Backed Mardle on the legs on which he threw first (easy tell as his odds are always around 1-3)
Think he only lost 2 in the entire game.
Made about €45 starting with a €5 bank.

Colin Lloyd is playing in about 5 mins.
Going to give it another go with him and see how it pans out.
He is 1-7 so there should be no real question of him losing legs on which he throws first.
    Here is hoping!

    Dear god almighty
I got colin Lloyd who is 1-10 to win this match @ 5-6 to win a leg he is throwing first on.
    That is just beyond belief
    Bet Receipt No. : O/20600500/0000218

    Selection Selection Details Result
    1 Darts Pending
    Betting in Running
Colin Lloyd v Jan Van der Rassel - BIR
    17th of December 2007 8:30pm
To Win 3rd Set, 3rd Leg
    Colin Lloyd @ 5 - 6
17/12/2007 €150.00 To Win - Single Internet 1 Colin Lloyd v Jan Van der Rassel - BIR
    Colin Lloyd
    5 - 6 Pending
Makes up for the weekend to say the least.
Some unreal value in this betting in running.
My heart almost came through my mouth watching the leg though :D
    Makes some sweet reading!
Ok now i really am going studying, have an exam tomorrow!

Doesnt take em half long enough to pay out on betting in running :(
2 more good betting legs with no bank to play with.
Everyone should have a good look at darts, mad odds at times

Ended up backing Van der Rassel in the betting in running @ 6-5 to win
Lloyd lost the plot and started talking to himself for a finish.
Would have been hilarious if i hadnt €200 in total on it.
Won €236 for a finish, nice evenings work if i do say so myself.

One of the good things about darts is that sometimes people have 2 matches on the one card. As long as you don't specify the opponent in a bookies you can get away with alot

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

Ah lads this is a disgrace.
Have made €258 on kevin painter in under 15 mins
    Its money for absolutly nothing.
Really and truely have a look at the betting in running
Find a game with a strong favourite and back only the games he
throws first in, they win 90% of them.

Sounds great but I don't follow darts for about 10 years (since SKY got it all).

    Mike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

I know sweet **** all about darts mike.
I know phil taylor cause he is always on sky sports news and thats it.
Dont need any knowledge just a half decent bank and its money for nothing.
Did get stung in the 3rd set but ended up with about €160 profit.
Not much wrong with that at all.

True, does the winner of a leg start the next leg or is it "in turn"?

As I can't actually see who will throw the first dart I feel I'm working slightly blind.

    Mike.

each player starts alternative legs in each set, with the first leg of each set also being alternative

Lads there is money ot be made for free tonight in the Ray van Barneveld match, only had a brief glance but over 3.5 180's in ladbrokes is 6/4, while in william hill under 3.5 is 5/6, so just adjust your stakes accordingly and you can win money for free.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,321 ✭✭✭prendy

this betting in running is easy!!!!
that looks good bout the 180's....even without laying it off.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Who threw first in the current match Roy - Parry?

Thats another 16 euro. This is fun.

    Thats another 8 euro.

Also if you double up if the overs with overs with overs in klaasen v van der voort @ 8/11 then double up the unders with unders in klaasen game in hills @ 11/10 the whole bet works out at just under 1/1.

    So, in ladbrokes your bet is Over 3.5 180's in barney @ 6/4 & over 5.5 in Klaasen @ 8/11 for say 176e which returns 760e and in william hill under 3.5 180's in barney @ 5/6 & under 5.5 180's in klaasen @ 11/10 for 200u returns 770e.

    total stake = 376 and potential returns = 760/770e.

I lost on a couple of legs but ultimatly 25% better than I started so I won't complain.

Betfair Out! Ladbrokes In (I find Ladbrokes is the fastest loading site which in this type of betting is a help).

Dennis Priestley (old timer) plays someone called Steve Maish at 7.10. The bookies seem to reckon Priestley is the fav by a comfortable distance. The odds for Barney are crazy at 1, and 1.01 with a -2.5 set handicap!

    Mike.

Let me know who throws first in that match. Much you betting each leg? Do you bet every leg or just the one the fav is throwing first

If I had the answer I'd tell you, I have the http://www.sportinglife.com/ running totals window, it refreshes every 30 seconds.

I bet on the favourite only.

The favouite Priestley throws second, Maish has opened the match.

Don't know how much of a time delay there is on this:confused:

Maish is two up after two. I've just placed a few euro on him.

Bad move! Maish wins first set easily enough.

Maish is on top of this he should win. I've changed my betting approach.

    Mike.

raheny red that stream is in real-time (or at least faster than the auto updates are).

Maish wins and so do I :)

Lost 10 euro betting on that match. Alot of sets went aganist the throw

It was a tricky one, the good news is that Adrian Lewis v Dave Askew is very one sided Lewis is a rising star, Askew is is a part-time brickie.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Lewis yer w*nker! I just lost 30 euro, he's suddenly looking a bit flaky, its just as well they're on a break.

Yea i lost 20 but got it back there

I lost 50 as I lost concentration and accidently bet on the wrong man! Recovered some of it but annoyed at that. Roll on Barney.

    Mike.

Anyone using the standard Betfair site to bet in running is completely mad! the odds dont refresh quick enough. Simply download Bet Trader or Bet Angel (both basic models are free).

I had the live feed above and still got it badly wrong as the 33/1 against chappie won two legs on the bounce. I did'nt get the chance to repair the damage cos the odds for a Barney leg win were so short.

Back to football. I understand that and its not so fast moving!

    Mike.

Lol so much for your lack of knowledge on darts Mike :D
Seem to be taking to it like a duck to water ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

I did'nt though, I took a big bath on Barneys lack of incisive finishing, then compounded my error today. I'm off the darts.

Have €100 in my account and am going to give it a belt on ronnie baxter vs dan olsen.

Would have bet on more games only paddypower took a lifetime to pay out on the betting in running after the 2nd set.

My only loss was on a frame that baxter was not throwing first but he had won 3 in a row so i thought he would win it.
    He obviously didnt :D

Made €11.40 on McArthur winning a leg! Backed him at 5's but layed it off. €11.40 is not bad for 2 mins work

He won 9 out of 10

Part should beat losper easy enough so gonna have a crack at making some money on that too

This Darts lark is great! Just backed Losper to win the last leg!!

So what about Mark Dudbridge v Steve Hine ?

After two sets, anyone who is betting on this is mad.

    Mike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

    Stopped after Losper and part.
    Had to head out.
    12 bets 11 winners, 240 euro profit
    Nice nights work

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,706 ✭✭✭green123

    just to be clear
are you just betting on them to win the leg they throw first in ?

Thats what I was doing. But in one sided matches generally backing the stronger player to win every leg can be profitable

    Yeah mostly doing that.
    Depends on the game.
If the underdog is playing well i sometimes back him to win the leg he is throwing
first on as its normally good odds ie evens

Can be a very profitable sport to back.
Plus the legs take a minute or 2 so you have the result in no time :)

Ok, I had my doubts, but i gave it ago today!

Holy jayzuz! i'm up about 30 euro already!

Honestly, this is ridiculas! how much money are PP losing??!?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

    Tell me about it.
Made about €200 on part vs wade today.
Its money for nothing if you are willing to stake a decent amount.
