    Hi all,

    Sorry for length of post.

Looking for some help with my weight and general fitness.

    Background:
I'm 31, 5'11" and now weigh 15stone 10 pounds, work in an office looking at books and records all day. Don't smoke and drink very little (once every 4/5 weeks). Have main meal about 18:00 (meat, potatoes/rise/pasta and 2 veg). Up to about 7 years ago I played badminton at a very serious level and weighed 12stone 10 pounds approx.
I have played very little sport since due to doing cruciate ligament 7 years ago (right leg), dislocating my ankle and breaking my ankle bone 2.5 years ago (left leg). None of these were done playing badminton. To be honest, while the injuries didn't help, I got lazy, ate the same amount as before, my belly got bigger and bigger and my weight went up to 18 stone as of last August.

Since then I have started to eat better and exercise more. I went back playing badminton 3/4 per week and things are looking more positive. However, I find my approach to food and exercise is very add-hock, I feel I need more structure and information on how to loose the weight and get fitter.
I am conscious of the fact that there is weakness in both my knees and I have 85% of full rotation in my left ankle. I have also noticed, I have lost a serious amount of strength and flexibility across my chest, arms and shoulders.

What is the best approach for me? What should I be doing more of? And what should I be cutting back on?

    Again sorry for long post.
