Yet another laptop screen thread

    Having trawled through the other threads I can't seem to find anyone else with a similar problem.

    I have a Iqon laptop (a re-badged Mitac 8575A) and horizontal lines creep into the screen from the edges when there is a large amount of the colour black on display on the screen. The lines jump and distort everthing around them.

    It's using the most recent drivers as far as I know and has me baffled.

    Any Ideas ?

    What does it do when you test the machine in safe mode?

    I assume the laptop has a VGA connection?

    Test laptop with spare VGA monitor: if the same crops up on the test monitor: gfx card in gone or it is a driver issue.

    If the test screen shows a clear image: then it is the laptop screen itself and I hope you are still within warranty :(.
