    Get your nominations in.

This catagory can go to whoever you think has improved their Poker game the most in the last 12 months, be it Live, On-line, cash or tournaments. Use anythings from postings on boards to results to moving up through the levels to decide on who you would like to nominate.

As with all the Boards awards, I need a boards nick for a person to be nominated, so get nominating, you have until Tuesday 18th December 2007 at ~13:00 to get your nominations in.

    Cooker

Even though he runs hotter than Jesus, he crushed $25nl - $100nl and is now well rolled for $200nl and I'd predict he'll soon be crushing it too.

nominations not votes.... lol i've seen some get nominate about a million times and come the vote they hardly get a vote...

anyway I've seen a big improvement from a number of boards players has been inspiring...

to mention a few I've noticed..

IanMc has showed how he can crush the game moving from 1/2 a few months back to beat much higher levels...

Roadsweeper has managed to move up levels again and has a good presence at the tables...

Cooker already mentioned is playing 200nl and will move again from a 50 quid deposit (correct me if im wrong). consider this a second....

    I'll think of more later.....

To be honest i dont know much about many peoples success stories other than the few people i keep in contact with on boards and from a few blogs so forgive me if i dont mention a few that deserve it.

When i started out at 20nl, roadsweeper and cooker were also playing. Roadsweeper only plays a fraction of the hands i play yet hes came through the levels just as quick and is playing 100nl now aswell so he easily earns a mention and as Mac previous commented Cooker was playing 20nl at the same time, made an initial $50 deposit and built from there, when i left 20nl he had something like 80 buyins and hes a complete bankroll nit:eek: and yet hes easily surpassed me through the levels also playing alot less hands and has gone on to 200nl and turned that $50 into a 5 figure sum if i remember hes post in the BB section recently. Im actually surprised he didnt get a bigger response in some of the other polls.

Really?? I missed that one, anyone got a link?? That's mucho impressive. Fair f'ing play, although to have a 100k BR and still be playing 1/2 is more than being a BR nit....

Lol sorry i meant 5 figures:D:D:D:D but he probably wont make the move to 400nl until he has 6 figures

As in the Dealer?? Yeah he does post as DITTAG but his name in Tag not Tadgh! Oh and the fact that his name is Tag has NOTHING to do with his style of play, he's been called Tag long before he played poker and decided he should raise->3 barrell every couple of hands!

Oh and on this point. I really didn't crush 25 or 50nl, my bb/100 were like 3 for both. I am beating 100 and 200nl for far more currently but as you said I do run good :)

In tourneys I’d be more inclined to go for Nic Nic.

In the cash end of things I’d go for Halfbaked.

(I can’t believe I haven’t been mentioned, maybe its because I’ve gotten worse lol)

I think its important that we deferentiate between a most improved player and an already established player. The player of the year and the most improved player of the year are getting all the same nominaions which is wrong I feel. We need to look outside the box a little for this catagory I believe. Players like semibluff, DitTag, Macspower, Albert Kenny and plenty of others I cant think of would suit this catagory more.

    My nomination is semibluff

macspower is a good one, when he first started posting here I thought he sucked really, now I think he gets it right almost all the time. nominate him if not already nominated.

Here are the nominees so far...

    BigCityBanker
    DVDFan
    tommygunne
    shoutman
    Cooker3
    Halfbaked
    thechump87
    nicnicnic
    IanMc38
    macspower
    White Knight
    DITTAG
    zuutroy
    semibluff

I'm vetoing NFR, because I don't know who that poster is, and TBH, NFR was voted Online Player of the Year last year, and this year wasn't, hence I'm leaving him out. Anyway he was top player last year and he still is, it's not what this award is about.

I'm also vetoing MrFlash, I don't want a repeat of the last poll...

The above is not even comparable to Solksjaer in the poster of the year category....Whatever the clique thought, Willie put smiles on the faces of most of the people that read his posts and i for one, enjoyed reading his posts.
