    Howdy!

Just thought it'd be interesting and useful if people could say how they squeeze in some exercise throughout the day (in addition to gym and all that). Only one I can think of is when I watch TV I have started trying to get 20 pressups in during the adds. Any other tips or pointers?

    Cheers,
    Gumby.

I find the karma sutra a great help.

He said in addition to going to the gym.
If you're doing a good bit of training already you may get more benefit from taking the time to relax. Rest is important.
Otherwise try using a speed rope. You can find noticeable benefits using one without spening too long with one, especially if you are not particularly light on your feet to start with.

Ok now I am seriously intrigued by how PWD fits the karma sutra into his gym workout especially if it is on the gym floor and not in the sauna or steam room?

A guy Pavel Tsatsouline has a few books on training, and talks of "greasing the groove". which basically says strength is a skill and needs practising, so recommends low reps often. e.g. if you could do 8 chinups, then do 3 or 4 every single day.

I do pullups going downstairs on the landing. I also have a chin bar in the entrance to my room, and can do chins there each time I leave the room, or dips on it as I have gymnastic rings on it too.

I do the pushups too, as mentioned during ad breaks, and have gripper tools while watching TV too.

Like a monkey hanging underneath the stairs climbing your way down (as if on a climbing frames you see in military exercises)?

When I think about it not too many houses have it, the one I grew up in and current house do. It is when you have 2 sets of stairs like this

I go down the first, in that pic the small section is on the bottom, big on top, mine is the opposite. You could do it in that pic though, as you go down the final stairs you can hang on the ledge of the landing. It is nice since it is very solid.

:D yep! I only do that when nobody is around though.

During the day you could do isometrics at your work desk, or anywhere I suppose.

I cycle for transport, and only ever get the bus if it is pissing rain. I also make a point of frequent trips to the recycling centre with all my plastic. It's only six miles round trip, so it's no hardship, but it's still exercise.

I try to make shopping into exercise as well. I'll always try to pick two or more shops that are a good distance away from each other, and get something from each of them. I did that today, and ended up walking 18,000 steps.

Did you actually count them or use a pedomter? I remember once counting the distance between my place and a friends. 1300 steps approximately. I was hammered at the time though

Pedometer. There's no way I'm going to count that number of steps. I do know roughly how many steps I'll cover on certain distances, but shopping needs a mechanical counter.
