    Evening lads,

I was just hoping if I could get some info. I'm looking to start in airsoft and I was wondering about several things, such as the best place to buy a weapon, skirmish sites, etc.

I am a member of the RDF so I was hoping to further improve my tactical practice with what looks like a savage and fun little sport. I was going to try paintball, but the weapons look absolutely naff and I drycleaning is expensive. So there ya go!

    Cheers guys

    Bro,

First off - they 'aint weapons. They are Airsoft Devices (at least thats their PC title). The minor semantic issue aside your best bet is to head up to one of the sites (browse the forum and you should find a few) and try it out a couple of times to make sure you are really up for it. If you do really like it then there are a wealth of retailers popping up all over the place. The ones you'll see here on the boards are probably the most reliable within the republic and where possible, its best to buy Irish if only from a customer service and speed of delivery point of view.

A word of warning though, please do not wear Irish issue uniforms on the skirmish field as their use for non-official or recreational purposes is illegal.

Check out the Irish Airsoft Association homepage for a set of easy links to the various outlets and venues in Ireland and welcome to the sport!

    Apologies! "Airsoft Devices", sounds sexy...

As for the uniforms, I've had that lecture beatin into me many times so no worries. I have some flecktarn stuff I use for hunting (my favourite camo).

    Cheers for the info lads
