Wednesday or Thursdays at 7pm field capped at 20 runners, either 50FO/DC or 100FO/DC, structure set to finish by midnight. If theres more than 20 runners 2 seperate tournaments could be held. Would you play regularly/sometimes? No point offering the tournament if only 1 or 2 turn up.

Ok, its on. 50+5 Freezeout this Thursday at 7.
5k starting 25 minute blinds, will finish by midnight.

i think early start times are great but would only take if all your tournaments on all days started early. No point only one or two days of the week early and the rest at 9pm. punters cant be expected and wont remember which tourneys start earlier on which days. thats why it needs to be all days early or none. i know this isnt really feasable though. what needs to go through the average punters mind is "Ah theyre the ones who run their tourneys early". this will only happen if all tourneys across the board are early.

personally i would be a regular if regular weekend tournies started at 7pm not so regular to midweek ones although i would go more frequently id say.

There is a very obvious reason not to start tournaments earlier than other casinos... A once a week tournament that actually did finish early might work, if that took off we could look at doing it more regularly, if there was interest there we would be willing to start tournaments daily at midday or whatever time.

I would definitely play a 7pm 50 DC on a regular basis, and possibly stretch to a €100 DC. Either day suits.

yeh it would suit me alot better.

Excellent idea Oscar - it feels familiar, oh yeah, I was supposed to organise something similar back in the midst of time. :o

I'd be very interested in this as a regular tournie.

I'm starting to thing that you are even less employable than Ste Buckley.

Oscar, I can't play before Christmas as I won't get out of the office before 7pm at the earliest. Hopefully this takes off though - because I would definitely have an interest in the new year when the evil deadline has passed.

Well spread the word, unlike other tournaments this only needs 10 players to be a sucess so should be easier to keep going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,724 ✭✭✭eoghan104

I wont make it this week or next but its a great idea and I will support it where possible in the new year.

    Oscar,

If posting events like this in the future, please use the correct format as it applies to all organisers/event posters, and we seem to have gotten a little lax about it lately.

    Cheers.

I hope to make it into this also.

Can you try explaining this post?

It doesn't make a lick of sense. Are you trying to have a conversation with someone specific?

Might pop down, just finished work. Can I join up with an out of date NUS card. Has my photo on it and I could fly between England n Ireland with it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

so given that im currently working the other side of merrion square, do i go home at 5, get fed and watered, and head back in for 7!? or do i fart about in town for two hours!?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,092 ✭✭✭Glowingmind

Just play some blackjack to kill the time.

Or if you want to play roulette, i have a guaranteed system that i'll sell you for 299.95.

That's not all mike, i'll also throw in a copy of caro's book of tells - little known fact that this can also be used for reading the dealer in blackjack.

Oh, i'm not finished mike, i'll also throw in a 7" vinyl copy of van mccoy's "The Hustle" that i snapped in half.

I have a roulette system that guarantees a 97.5% payout*, on sale now for £97.50** It really works*** and I have used it to become a millionaire****.

*Payouts may rise as well as fall
**Price is subject to doubling every few mins
    ***It doesnt work
****I'm so broke i have to borrow money from my no good brother to play this poker game tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 123 ✭✭murdog!

if you really must know glowingmind, what i meant to say was we could have a semi final type situation, with the other two play eachother and i go directly to the final.

    Yours sincerely,

    Your no good brother

i'm decreasingly likely to attend this... no indication whatsoever of numbers. not up for a 3 handed game being honest.

Ah, ye olde catch 22. "I'm not playing if there aren't many there, and because I don't think there will be many there, I won't go".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 730 ✭✭✭aodea

ditpoker is and always will be a fool.

i will be in for seven.

10 players, pretty sure rasta has to win this. othe rthan being a card rack i think i donated him half my stack when i didnt have the balls to push the flop when i thought and called only to fold the turn. fun little game...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 438 ✭✭Jools Poker

i went in for this thinking ok nice early tourney (which it was:)) and home nice and early too (which i was:p)...only I managed to play both tourneys there tonight (badly:o)and still be home for half nine:eek: result or what lol :D:p

Yeah, it finished up by about half ten. Only ten players though....would be great if few more players got on board. I'll give it a go next week again anyway probably.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

I blew it of course, played like a manic heads up and it didn't work! Although I did lose to a pretty bad beat after donking off about 15k, no complaints! I was snap calling if you pushed in that hand btw Jeff.

BTW this is a perfect tourney for anyone who works, it finished at 9:45 and started almost on-time. Be good to get at least 3 tables next week and I'd say it would be over b4 12

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 730 ✭✭✭aodea

enjoyed this one had a good laugh until rasta drew out on me when i got him were i wanted him. still third was profit.

jumped straight into other game where i was chip leader with 8 left then blinds at 500-1000 raise to 3k call sb makes it 9 im bb look down at kings push fold fold small blind calls has AA sigh. after that didnt get a hand i needed. Always in the blinds.

enjoyed first game more. nice to put names to boards faces or some such. plus ditpoker plays a bad bad stt.:)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

STT's are complicated. i think its the same reason i'm rubbish at final tables unless everyone's playing tight.

for some (inexplicable) reason people keep calling me these days! go figure!

rasta, i'd a huge draw and paired my queen on the turn, was behind to alot but was thinking if i check pushed the flop you may have folded a weak ace. also, i loved the insta-call with AA "if you have a jack... " LOL

If this got 2-3 tables it'd be great. when i get bored later this afternoon i'll put together a structure that would end by midnight and be reasonably playable...

Has the makings of a cracking little tournament even though my appearance was a fleeting one.

Glad this game got going and should make it next week.

    P.S. Ocean Colour Scene rock

    YES THEY DO!!!

Judging by how quickly this finished up it looks like I would have made both of them!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,860 ✭✭✭ditpoker

i think the early finish time is more a reflection on everyones willingness to play massive pots with 3h2h or if they were really lucky 5hTh, more so than the pressure of blinds or structure.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 754 ✭✭✭robinblinds

    Heh.

I laid down A10 to AJ on a A97 flop and was still el busto on 200/400 level.

    Good craic.
