I think this thread is turning into a tag team match on keyboards, I dont have time for it to be honest Im far too busy to be referencing this author and this book etc. abotu this that and the other.

There are many differences between Sanda and Muay Thai I think the O.P. should have looked a little deeper into his comparisons.

Michael sorry to hear the training aint going well my own training has suffered also, 3 kids now to look after on top of work etc.,can you refresh my memory please what reasons did I highlight in my other thread?

    Hi Wayne,

Actually the training is good, just not as good as I would like. The brief time doing Thai gave me a good appreciation of it and helped and made me more focused on my WT and the BJJ is doing the same at the moment. Did you do some BJJ?

The reason you highlighted in the other thread were kids, etc. Understandable.

    Regards,

    Michael

    Nice pics there paddy.

Look at the feckin' leanness of the chap throwing the kick in the last picture. You'd wonder how many thousands of hours of training he's seen.

No wonder they were hard to defeat in battle...hardy wee feckers...hearts the size of their heads...

..It reminds me of the factual records of how the Gaelic warriors of Ireland went to Sparta and gave them repeated beatins on a regular basis!!!;)

.In the ring, out of the ring at the top end of the Thai game beats the Chinese stuff.I'm not sayen that Thai arts are unbeatable but from the early 60's when Muay Thai went more world wide. There has been no body else ranked number 1 in Muay Thai who hasnt been a son of soil of Siam.

in the sanshou versus muay thai the thais are only slightly ahead.

Both Muay Thai and San Da are great sports, and great platforms to test your skills as a martial artist. Throughout Europe many Kick Boxers enter into both formats.

To save myself from repeating myself, the link below has info on what exactly San Da is.

3 kings about your claim saying no one outside of thailand has been ranked no 1 and the thais are mytical creatures that cant be beaten thats bull**** and what does the fact that they didnt lose a war have to do with anything (i thought wars were fougt with swords and guns?)ur not thai are u? i searched the web and....sari(french) lumpinee champ ,farid villaume(french) no.5 ,jwp (aus) no.3 ,skarbowsky(french) no.1 for one year at rajadamneon (never got ashot) plus more that i never heard of if you have an attitude like you have like it cant be done of course you would lose they are human after all!!!!!!
are there any clips or links to this groundfighting muay thai? or any gym in dublin area that teaches it ? sounds interesting

That's Muay Boran AFAIK. I think you can see some clips of it in the human weapon episode on Muay Thai.

Pretty sure only the ringsport is taught in Dublin. For effective ground work, most people are gonna go with BJJ / Judo.
