Ever so slightly deserving of a thread in its own right methinks. Well tonight is a big game to both teams, Arsenal could go back 6 points clear at the top while Allardyce is under serious pressure at the moment.

Traditionally these games away to Newky have been tight and imo tonight will be no different. Arsenal are missing most of their creative forces tonight, Fabregas, Hleb and Rosicky are out and while I thought they might struggle to create chances I remembered what defence they're up against.

    1-1 Draw

Arsenal will steam roll them big time. Sam's players just dont seem interested. Between 2 to 4 nil Arsenal i reckon.

    Absolute screamer from adebayor.
    First chance of the match.
    Game over already me thinks.
Newcastle will get caught badly on the break now that they have to chase the game.

Fantastic goal from Adebayor. Also this gives another five points for the Fantasy Football :)

How so? Forwards only get 4 for a goal.

Greedy git Adebayor. All he had to do was square that at any stage instead of tryign to beat the whole team on his own and shooting from a crappy angle. Eduardo would have been clean through on goal.

Yeah should have passed there really

Both teams playing only ok, not great. Newcastle are up for it but look a bit limp on front of goal.

    Martins looked onside to me!

    exciting enough to watch.

another loss would be 3 in a row at home for Newky.

    he was onside.

notice how gray couldnt bring himself to say he was though, as he'd already praised the linesmans decision. Blue clown.

I think Newcastle might sneak an equaliser.....

Then proceed to conceed another 5 goals before FT

Newcastle looking most likely. Just slightly less likely than Big Sam having a heart attack

Toon played decent tonight, fair ****s to em

Adebayor was awful after he scored that great goal. Mis placed passes, not knowing the offside rule and falling around the place right left and centre.

Thought Newcastle might knick it towards the end but not to be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,080 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Great game. End to end for the last 30 minutes. Newcastle played well tonnes of heart but very little flair. They really do offer very little going forward dont they ? Smith played his heart out and won countless balls but rarely looked a threat. Martins ran and ran and ran...and did little else. Viduka is a lazzzzzy slowwww striker. Fair play though, they battled for every ball and gave Arsenal a real game.

Agreed. Best bit was when Rosicky was through on goal and he was on front of him, both of them behind the last defender. He was calling for the ball constantly when he was obviously offiside and when Rosicky got dispossessed he gave him an earful. Was a bit of a joke with all the falling over as well.

Draw away with our 4 best players out through injury. Not bad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

A 1-1 draw away to Newcastle is not a bad result.
Newcastle have a better home record this season than Liverpool !
Great game and a good result for the chasing pack.

Anyone else think maybe Taylor should have gone (or at very least been carded/foul given) when he threw himself in front of Adebayor towards the end to stop him reaching the ball and being through one on one on goal?
