Have a funny feeling about this game, newcastle under pressure, need a win badly

i reckon a newcastle win or a draw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 613 ✭✭✭smog

you will get 4 to 1 for a newcastle (home) win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30 mixervilla

4/6 and they're missing a number of players and away from home - they prob will win but there's no value in that bet.
Id go with abedayor for 1st goal with PP at 9/2 or Rosiky @ 10/1
If Abedayor scores last the bets are refunded at PP
At least you'll make some decent money with these if they come in and not just 13euro!

Overs and Unders are the way to go here methinks. It's traditionally a low scoring game so Under 2.5 goals @ 10/11 seems value to me.

Newcastle's defence is truely awful though

i put rosikki(as they call him on SP) down for first goal and ars to win 3-0.... 1euro bet 56euro return. Newcastle at home, lots of presure, arsenal missing a few players, newcastle on poor form, arsenal had a rocky weekend... too many things playing havoc with this result...

    Good bet.
i know Newcastle desperate for a win , but you know Arsenal can cope even without their big passers.

Indeed, but Arsenal are shorn of their main creative forces in Hleb, Fabregas and Van Persie. Flattuso is out also.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,040 ✭✭✭threebeards

I think this is hard a game to call as there has been for a while. Arsenal will miss Fabregas and Hleb but on the other hand Newcastle are p1ss poor. I don't know why but I just think Newcastle might scrape a point. From a punting point of view, I'm not too confident though and think it's better watched. Martins to score at any time is a bit of value @ 3-1 or Rosicky to score at any time is 7-2 (both on Betfair)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,498 ✭✭✭✭cson

Thats why I think the overs/unders market is your best place to look for a bet. Its gonna be a hard match to call, and I'm gonna stick with my 10/11 for under 2.5 goals.

Possibly have a punt on Rosicky as an anytime scorer. Gallas would tempt me slightly in this regard too.

But i think the game will go one of two ways - arsenal will HAMMER newcastel 3/4 : 0

or it will be a really nasty, boring game where it's a 0:0 / 1:1 draw...

I know you can say that about any game - but this one in particular is tricky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,014 ✭✭✭dotsflan

i think possibly the bet to go with here is arsenal HT and FT at around 6/4
If the newcastle defence plays like they have all year then arsenel will rip them to shreds plus i got the impression from the newspapers that there is a divide between players and management at the moment

You do realise you don't have to bet on the game lads?

Not bet???? What is this madness you speak of. I'd go Arsenal 4-0. Denilson, rosicky, adebayor, etc will get the job done.

    Thats just pure crazyness

    so hard to call alright.

could be "one of those nights" a packed St James, under lights, their team backs against the wall, a big team coming to town- and somehow just somehow they get a result.

or Arsenal could just destroy them and the toon army will invade the pitch and rip Joey Barton to bits.

have to say I think the former could just be it...although cause I am not sure 5-2 Newcastle Win (Draw no Bet) in PP seems like worth a go?

actually kinda looking forward to the drama of it tonight.

Agreed , but if Eduardo is fit , don't forget about him.

Never bet for or against Newcastle.

Logic cannot be applied and money will be lost

I got Diarra to score at anytime on betfair last night @13's. Thought it was good value considering he'll probably be playing beside Gilblets and may have a more forward role. He looks eager to get forward and do some damage so tonight could be the opportunity.

As for the outcome of the game there has been some valid points raised however I think we all may over overestimating Newcastles unpredicability. Granted Arsenal are short some of the more creative players however we still have the likes of Rosicky (also doing him to score anytime), Denilson, Ade and Eduardo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

    Avoiding like the plague.
Too much uncertainty and Arsenal have too many missing.
A decent bet would be a high card count.
Can see the likes of smith, martins, Diarra etc all getting booked.
Mike dean is the ref and his stats are
    Matches Red Yellow Average
    10 4 50 5.40
A red card also might not be beyond the realms of possibility @ 5-2.

A safer bet is probably Basel in the UEFA cup.
Similar odds to the Arsenal game and should win comfortably
--- in saying that i said the same about WBA last night so ignore my ramblings!! ;)

I've the minority view that people are giving Newcastle and their circumstances too much credit. I think the 1.82 available on betfair for the arsenal win is good value.

I think Arsenal have more than enough to score a couple and with their defense at full strength, Newcastle will be doing well to score one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭Pj!

I believe Arsenal at 1.81(chronicle) offers value and am on.

Can't imagine it being a straightforward game though.

Threw the whole lot on Arsenal with a draw being a void bet @ 1-4
Dream start 1-0 after 3 mins

    and scrape some cash together!

Only reason i backed arsenal was to make watching the game more interesting

Villareal are 1-0 up in the UEFA cup

30 mins in and they are 1:0 up and supposedly looking comfortable 'supposedly'(reading online -no access to TV at the mo). balls.

I'm thinking of a "last min" 200 euro bet on whatever the score is ie 1-1 with 60 secs left then bet draw. I'll only get a few euro back but it'll cover my fiver! :p

am i mistaken but did all the favourites win in the uefa cup tonight. i had four of them in an accum but i could have put in a lot more but didnt want to get greedy. If all the favs won the bookies must have been cleaned this evening. One for the punters at last!!!!!!!

In all fairness though the Gaff could do with an active mod. Isn't it ecksor and WWM who are the mods? (And admins?)

To be honest theres not much muppetry, the odd bit here and there, but an active mod wouldn't do any harm imo.

i think it would increase the amount of posts/threads as well...
