    Hello,
I am looking for gyms in the Smithfield area. My requirement is that the gym should have a swimming pool. The two closest ones would be the Smitfield gym itself and Crunch fitness. Does anyone know any other ones as these two are quite pricey?

    Thanks,

I think the Iveagh has a pool, it's not a million miles away

There is a very swanky gym in Smithfield with a pool and lots of trendy stuff. Can't remember the name of it, but it's about six doors North from Fresh, the big food market. I checked it out, but it was too pricey for me.

What about the Countess Markievitz gym at the back of Tara Street? Gym and pool and you can pay as you go. Admittedly, it's a very odd gym, with no power rack, squat rack or even any barbells, but it does have lots of dumbells, an assisted dip machine, other stuff and a proper pool.

that gym in smithfiled is: www.oneescape.ie

pool in iveagh is small, altho most dubiln cc gym's pools are... best go walk about and tour each taking a look at the pools... you'll be doing plenty of swim turns anyhow ;)

at the last poster said the Markievitz would be one of the larger ones in the cc, although check out the Trinity gym if you are thinking of hiking that far, it's only a short distance away and supposed to be a decent enough pool

I didn't realise that we allowed members of the public to join, but just checked the website and it didn't state either way. Trinity's gym is brand new - opened in February - and has excellent facilities. The pool is 25m with 6 lanes and is open for almost all the hours that the gym is (there's a few hours a week where it's closed for clubs). Gym facilities are pretty good too, with a range of cardio and weights. More info here.

The Iveagh fitness club off Patrick Steet D8 has a pool.
The gym in the Hilton Kilmainham D8 has a small pool but its not really for swimming - more for hydrotheraphy. It does have a swimming machine though (kinda like a threadmill for swimming)
The Iveagh is prob about a 20-30 min walk from Smithfield.
