Half Life 2 Episode 2 probably slightly surpasses Bioshock, so that will be my choice (unless Portal counts as a choice, which I really don't think it can)

Well, it's not a shooter, which is an integral part of an FPS. It's a puzzle game, but sadly, there's no puzzle category.

It is first person. There is shooting. YOU even get shot at.

no cause you dont aim in Mario and the game mechanics are not designed around the weapon, they are designed around the progress from platform to platform to reach a goal using a variety of items/moves/mini games...which is why its a platformer.

that is an argument for the games forum not game awards, if you wish to continue to discuss it I will take the posts in question and form a new thread, PM me and it will be done.


Until the general consensus can argue logically that Portal does not fit as a nominee I will approve of its nomination.

Portal. The only bad thing about it was that it ended so soon. Even then, it's the greatest ending in the history of ever (with the possible exception of Planescape: Torment, but being an RPG it doesn't count here).
