Hi guys just back from the gym and feel completely exhausted......drained probably is the best word....

Im trying to loose a couple of extra pounds before christmas so aswell as doing weights im trying to do my cardio after doing the weights(which was advised on an earlier post) but the trouble is I just dont have energy to do so....sometimes im even struggling to finish my weights routine.....what could this be and any advice on how to solve this problem?

Maybe I could do cardio seperate to the days I lift weights?

    Any help guys??

I know this isn't what you asked but if your looking for help in fat loss check out Gaspari's Thermogenic Thyrotabs people are reporting losing 20lbs [1.5 stone] in as little as 4 weeks, looks to be the business

personally iw ouldnt as unless ya goin for aerobic fitness as super sets work and your heart workin faster to pump blood to different areas of the body and as a result burn more fat

What exactly are you doing in the gym weights wise and how long are you spending? Personally i find it handier to break up my weights and cardio session, this has an advantage of keeping my activity levels up throughout the week too.

Also how soon before and after the gym do you eat?

weights before cardio is not set in stone. it depends where your priorities are?

Sounds to me like you're just working out too much on too little calories. You're going to feel like that if you are trying to loose weight too quickly.

Can you post your current routine please? If you'd like, we could recommend a more productive routine for you.

If you take enough pharmaton, 3-4, at once they actually make you knurd. An interesting thing i found out in my leaving cert days

I've found siberian ginseng good for general energy levels.
You do seem to develop a tolerance for it if you use it regularly. Also the effectiveness of different brands varies massively (with some having no effect). FSL was one brand that seemed good. Little jars with green labels. Siberian Ginseng is not ginseng btw (it just has the same name).
Haven't taken it myself for years.

<quote> in the Soviet Union, Siberian ginseng became the focus of many studies. It was found to increase endurance and performance of athletes, and many famous Soviet Olympic champions included Siberian ginseng as part of their training programs. Siberian ginseng was so touted that Soviet astronauts carried it into space with them, as opposed to the amphetamines carried by American astronauts. </quote>

    any bad side effects?

    What's your diet like?

I found that a hypertonic / isotonic drink really helps extend the energy levels if you're working out hard. It's adding calories of course. I make mine from advice I got off the bbc website. I'll see if I can dig it out.

(found it here...I tend to go with the hypotonic one because I'm sweating a lot and because it has fewer calories).

Thanks Khannie think I will rustle up one of them today before the gym....looks simple enough.Cheers

Yeah, they're very simple alright. Lidl's do a "hi-juice" type cordial with OOODLES of sugar in it for next to nothing. Perfect for sports drinks.

edit: I meant hypotonic (not hypertonic). I corrected my post below, but it's worth pointing out here that I'd edited it. The hyp-er-tonic one has way too much sugar in it for my liking. I use it before, during and after exercise.
