Yeah I am sick of 'bertie' esp as his name is not even albert,
his name is Micheal Patrick Ahern.

Seriously all this 'bertie' spin needs to be knocked on the head and people see him for who and what he is.

His name is Micheal Patrick Ahern.

Could they not have thought of a more clever slogan? Or am I missing a hidden layer of meaning...?

    "Far too much bertie"

Sorta reeks of "careful now", "down with that sort of thing", doesn't it? lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,972 ✭✭✭patrickc

Charvet shirt anyone? :) I shouldn't even joke about it, he makes me sick to the core, but the people that voted and supported him in the 'lection make me sad

Exactly what do they think 200,000 stickers are going to achieve? Does anyone really believe that telling Bertie you don't like him will bother him in the slightest?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,238 ✭✭✭humbert

Yeah was liking it until I saw Indymedia mentioned, also crap slogan.

Though I have to say a visible protest isn't a bad idea.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,570 ✭✭✭Ulysses Gaze

Exactly what do they think 200,000 stickers are going to achieve?

Well it's showing a little, just a little, form of political interest in quite possibly one of the most politically apathetic countries in Western Europe.

If you add to this the campaign to send Ahern 38,000 teabags, then at least people are starting to vent political anger rather than pounding their fists at the bar........

What exactly do they hope to achieve with these stickers? Bertie doesn't give a ****e what anyone of us meer sheepy eyed mortals think, his work here is done and his pockets are lined. This is a stupid idea and is too little too late. Closing the stable door after the horse has bolted, so to speak.

probably in relation to his 38,000 pay rise
I love the way the complaints about bertie are not he is doing a bad job just that he is giving himself more money
so he is doing an alright job then yeah?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,570 ✭✭✭Ulysses Gaze

It's related to when Bertie was defending his pay-rise stating that he had to pay for a cup of tea whereas other leaders didn't -

These guys (http://www.digoutday.com/support.php) believe we should ALL send a teabag to Bertie to give him a 'dig-out'.

    I know...a 14% pay rise and the public gets furious. Before that;

'Ah sure Bertie is one of us....A man of the people.'

I remember hearing on the Luas one day some guy going....

'I hate FF...can't stand them. But sure I like Bertie. He's Gas'

Lol at the teabag stunt - very good :)

Im glad hes still there on one count, at least hes going to get shown in his real light and not given a heros send off when the time comes. Theres no real hurry to get him out now bacause the damage is done and irreversable at this stage. I say leave him there untill peoples blood gets rightly up (this will probably never happen tho), then release the hounds.

Just a friendly warning for anyone as silly as myself. I sent on my address to get the stickers.

I got the stickers alright, now I'm just after getting this:
How are you doing today? I am sorry i didn't inform you about my traveling to Africa for a program called "Empowering Youth to Fight Racism, HIV/AIDS, Poverty and Lack of Education, the program is taking place in three major countries in Africa which is Ghana , South Africa and Nigeria . It as been a very sad and bad moment for me, the present condition that i found myself is very hard for me to explain.

I am really stranded in Nigeria because I forgot my little bag in the Taxi where my money, passport, documents and other valuable things were kept on my way to the Hotel am staying, I am facing a hard time here because i have no money on me. I am now owning a hotel bill of $ 1550 and they wanted me to pay the bill soon else they will have to seize my bag and hand me over to the Hotel Management., I need this help from you urgently to help me back home, I need you to help me with the hotel bill and i will also need $1600 to feed and help myself back home so please can you help me with a sum of $3500 to sort out my problems here? I need this help so much and on time because i am in a terrible and tight situation here, I don't even have money to feed myself for a day which means i had been starving so please understand how urgent i needed your help.

I am sending you this e-mail from the city Library and I only have 30 min, I will appreciate what so ever you can afford to send me for now and I promise to pay back your money as soon as i return home so please let me know on time so that i can forward you the details you need to transfer the money through Money Gram or Western Union.

    Thanks
    FarTooMuch Bertie

No he didn't! First of all it was a parliamentary election, not a presidential one. Second of all, well, you're just wrong.
People moan and complain and two things happen young people dont vote in strong enough numbers

Not helped by holding the election on a Thursday in the middle of exams, mind.

    I don't get it.

Getting people to share their personal details is the worst way possible to get them to support you in such a campaign.
Why don't they distribute them at traffic lights or something just like the radio stations do with theirs helpi anonymity for the recipients?

I definitely think it's time for Bertie to go. In other countries they have revolutions to get rid of thieving, corrupt, incompetent ****wits - why can't we have one?
