Women and attraction to married men...

We were having a discussion on Friday night (I think) about how a lot of single girls seem to love men wearing a wedding band.... we got onto this because one of our pals has bought one and proudly displays it even though he isn't indeed married !!!

He is sure thats why's he has started pulling the women more....

Any of the girlies in here got any thoughts or feedback on this ?

    Wow, that's seriously pathetic...

However, if it's working for him then fair enough. Perhaps it's a placebo effect. I have to say I've never noticed myself having a thing for married men but I never really check for wedding rings on men when I'm checking them out so I guess I wouldn't notice. However, I'm in a relationship so it's not really important to me!

Wouldn't be an 'attraction' to me... IF I was attracted to a guy and saw a wedding band then I'd back right off.
I don't go near taken guys.

    I disagree.

The ring is purely a mechanism employed to increase his chances of scoring. Much the same sort of carry on as young wans who wear padded or push-up bras.

A wedding ring is quite a bit more desperate though imo!

LOL...how is a ring in the same league as a push up bra?
surely ... padding in a guy would be in the same league as a push up bra.

I can't see a wedding ring being a 'come hither' type thing, whereas flaunting cleavage probably would be.

    Why?

It's obviously attracting the kind of girl he wants.

    One night stand material.

If it works for him, and he gets his end away, more power to him.

The girl is of questionable moral standing, but I'm sure he doesn't care about that.

It's all about teh secks at the end of the day, and he's getting it, the girl is getting it, and everyone is happy.

At least he isn't married and doing the dirty on his wife.

Oh noes, he's tricking the girls. So what, if they are devious enough to be with a married man, she probably deserves to be tricked a bit.

Exactly. At least when the guy takes off the ring she's not going to be seriously disappointed!

LOL - man I'm sick -- I totally didn't see the bit where the OP said his friend 'wasn't' married! (serioulsy have a doc note, I am sick).
That IS rather silly though, hoping to entice immoral girls to him? Suppose as DesF said - perhaps that's what he's after *shrug*

Each to their own and all that was my initial thoughts when we were laughing and talking....

I personally haven't seen the girls queuing up for him but then I'm not with him 24/7.... could be all B/Sh*t....

Married males have been pre-approved as suitable mates in the eyes of women. (subconsciously)

It all goes back to our hard-wiring and animal like behavior.
    Sad, but true.

    Boring? Ugly? Un-attractive to women?

Introducing the latest accessory for the lno-morals man about town ... it's the WonderRing (TM).

You too can fool unsuspecting bimbos into thinking you are a married man ... they will spot the ring, think you are the bees-knees and drop their trollies within the hour.

Guaranteed - Buy this ring and you will never sleep alone again*

*may not actually work, your mileage may vary.

Surely this doesn't work? i would say it would put off the girls, no? Unless there's a lot of morally reprehensible ladies out there. If some guy was chatting me up and I saw a wedding ring I'd run away as fast as possible.

Back away, not today... disco lady, or er fella in this case!

Wimmins are evil. Trying to bed a married man just to spite the wife. :D

    Dorrty!

It should be something women put on dating ads. Well, my name is Mary, I'm 38, I like gardening, wine and cooking and I'm completely morally reprehensible. The offers would come flooding in!

If the guy is that desperate for sex why didn't he use the money he spent on the ring on hookers instead ?

It probably came from a pan o' brack (how do you spell that?) he had at Halloween.

This fella seems a bit dodgy, so I can see why people are being dismissive of him, but its a bit worse that women are so desperate to bed a married man. What a bunch of crazy wimmins you wimmins are.

i dont know about the wedding ring but what i think works is when your just not looking for a woman. The less interested in checking women out etc the more likely women are to try it on with you.

maybe it's the whole "if he's good enough for someone to snatch up"

friend of mine experienced the same thing, he was out for as few beers one night and he could see the local bike doing the rounds but alas she steered well clear of him (he's fugly maybe) two month later he's back from honeymoon and the same tramp was all over him in the pub.

This is true Rig. Although you'd think that cop on would figure in this scenario, i.e. if he's cheating on his missus then he's hardly a prize catch. getting involved with married men/women is the fast track to trouble.

"Some" women tend to be attracted to married men and theres good reason for it! A married guy can go out and have a laugh, he is under no pressure to get with someone on a anight out because he has someone at home (his wife). Its this relaxed, no pressure air that they have about them ... one of the biggest turn offs for women on a night out is the desperation dripping off some guys.

Thank you, I also do private sittings.

Eh, why is this thread here and not in the wimmins forum or PI? Standards are slipping around here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,007 ✭✭✭pretty-in-pink

Some wimmins are attracted to married men as they have been deemed worthy by another wimmins, and they have some basic training....

however a married man that would stray is hardly worth fishing for.

Also as 6th said, the lack of desperation is probably an accelerant-
clingy guys == NOOOO Run away

Cheating is wrong though, not fair to anyone involved especially the poor maligned wife (or hubby)

It's also that women like rich, successful, rich, confident, rich, older, rich, in control, rich, powerful, rich, ambitious, rich, car-owning, rich, home-owning, rich, willing-to-spend-money-on-them, rich men, and it helps if the married man in question also has a lot of money to boot.

Put another way, some young women like men in their 30s/40s who have already made their fortune. They see a wedding ring and they smell the family home/good job/fancy car etc. I don't think a wedding ring will make much of a difference to the sex appeal of the long term unemployed.

Now I do not agree in cheating, but if your married, and 'comfortable' then it is a great feeling when a lady comes up and pays you attention (regardless of the half a kebab laying on your shirt).

Could turn an old buck into a spring gazelle when he gets home.. (if you know what I mean)

    *nudge *nudge *wink *wink

If a bloke is sitting in a bar, and getting attentions off a young lass - he'll be better for it !!

Now the lad we are talking about that puts on the wedding ring for a bit of 'action' I feel would have little success, because I think the wimmins would see straight through the facade, and be able to smell the desperation.

Is that the same idea as rub a gys ego, and he will love you? Or to be crude- rub a guys ego- its like rubbing his c0c but less messy and more fun? Desperation is a nasty smell- always and forever

I fully agree brother , I'm sure a few people can agree with me on this one , When i was single and trying to hook up i went through a period known better as the drought. But as soon as women know that your anyway attached you seem to be getting all these offers out of NOWHERE. Thankfully brother sarge would never cheat.

This is true, and rather an annoying trait of the wimmins. Always wanting what they can't have and such. they smell relationships. possibly its the stale perfume wafting from you.
