Would people recommend theses, thinking about buying a barbell with 50kg weights, much use or a waste of time?

Anyone recommend places to buy them for not an arm and a leg:D?

No those argos jobbies are a waste, trust me on this, a month maybe less and it will be too light.
For proper weights, join a gym with a good weights section.
Put it this way, I have one at the moment, and its going to the tip.

Bit of an blanket assumption there Jumpy.
A barbell and 50kg is plenty for a lot if not most people around.
Maybe not people who have been training regularly but I think the Argos sets are fine for a beginner who has poor strenght levels and want's to improve

Little point buying an Olympic set if you can only use a small percentage of the weight.

Have a small light dumbells one's and they're crap. Can't increase the weight.

Don't want to join a gm at the moment as I havent a spare minute in my life these days, so looking for a cheap enough barbell and 50kg. 50kg would just be a start off then I would increase it when needed.

Not really a beginner and I can lift 50kg.

Oh, I'm not saying you couldn't Gav.

I think the Argos kits are a fine piece of equipment and hardly a waste of time.
You are too advanced for them now but they could be ideal for someone else.
    Anyway, I'm getting offtopic here

but if you have the cash one of these would do you for ages and they have a high resale value if you ever want to shift it

Anyone who wants to pick it up can have my bench. The bar is corroded, but the bench itself is ok. Its an argos jobbie.
    Im in Limerick though.
