All showers gone and i have an overwhelming feeling that the next 2/3 months are going to be ridiculously mild, here's hoping they arent.:o

Cold air being trapped under the cloud cover here and temp not rising at all and no surface warming.Has hit 5.1c briefly and has fallen back to 4.8c atm.

@WC ,have you checked the ECM for next week, might change your mind regards to mild.

This cold snap has been even snappier than expected!

The cold is gone by this evening when it was meant to last till lalte

Still a sharp frost tonight in the east and south.. But rain and wet weather spreading in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

I say it be colder here in the first part of the night than last night if the cloud breaks otherwise the temp be stagnant untill later on.

Going to fall below freezing in many areas by 7pm i suspect.

Harsh frost, down to near -5c before 1am before much milder air and rain pushed east.

Perhaps sleet in the midlands for a while during the early AM.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭arctictree

So maybe a transient sleet event later!!?

Funny weather here today. Went up to 6c earlier and now down at 1.5c with the sun still in the sky! The rain drops on the grass in the shade have all frozen.

Indeed you never know, we might be just that lucky:D

Temperature really falling now for sure. Sky totally clear, going to be cold, real cold tonight here, Light Westerly winds, offsetting a sea breeze and very low 850's.

Dublin Airport fell to 3c @ 3pm! It has already started falling for the night!!

    Temperature fallen to 2c @ Dublin Airport @ 3.30pm

I can tell you that it is mighty cold here, my thermo is bust so dont know exact temp.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,171 ✭✭✭highdef

Well the "Rain or shine - You may post it here" seems to have moved here:

Now down to 3.5c at Northwood, Santry - about 1 mile south of Dublin airport which as weathercheck said is now at 2c (rounded off to the nearest full number, I would imagine). -.4c already....WOW!!!

Dublin airport is down to just 1c as of 16:00 - Is this a November record I wonder???

My all time low Nov max is 5.3C on 28th 2005.
    Today's 7.8C didn't even get near my top 5.

Only because somehow it got into its little brain that there is precipitation, and with temp at -2.5C, this would translate into snow. in the automated report.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,685 ✭✭✭Mobhi1

Low of -3.3 about 10pm; risen about a degree since. Max today of 4.9.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭arctictree

I noticed on the radar that the rain arrived here at 2:30am. My station gives a reading of 1.3c for then - I wonder if there was a snow event then briefly!!

It arrived here about 310am and the temp was 3.9 and DP-1.1c and drizzle. Wet bulb temp was at 2.7c so it was defo rain here but albeit light. The heavier stuff could have had wet snow/sleet mixed in.

Couldn post as the server updates at 3am every morning.
