Yes you do want muscle as its muscle what gives you your shape if you don't have it you'll look like a toned skeleton see example

On the protein shake front yes its advisable but also having your normal day to day diet in proper order is more advisable. Post that up and we can take a look see

Yeah if you drink protein you'll put on big man muscle all over your body without doing any exercise whatsoever. That's how bodybuilders look so huge. It's purely down to the amount of protein they drink.

Tell your boyfriend he's talking sh1te.

Doing cardio & weights while eating healthily will be enough as long as you put in the effort. There's plenty of information in the stickies as to the best ways for losing weight.

Any woman you see that you consider "toned" (for want of a better word), is probably lifting heavy weights to get that way. e.g.

Any woman you see that is "too muscley" is probably on steroids, has very low bodyfat, and is in the gym all day everyday.

Just to set the record straight my BF does know what he's talking about - he sad that if i didnt stay motivated and work out i would get fat and muscley whilst drinking the protein shakes i should have stated that in my forst post.
He doesn't know what he's talking about if he's saying that.

Well it's a bit different with the science of your body, it's generally FACT, not opinion. I could go off and say in my opinion, grass from the garden is an excellent supplement to bodybuilding and it'd be OK? :)

well everyone has different opinions and is entitled to them.
There is a difference between "opinion" and "fact" and you're right, your boyfriend is entitled to his opinion but it doesn't make him right.

Listen, I'm not trying to have a go at you or your boyfriend but the "fact" of the matter is you do not put on muscle by sitting around doing nothing drinking protein shakes. If it was that easy we'd all look like bodybuilders.

Protein shakes are really no different to 'normal' food, it's just in liquid form. Chicken is another form of protein, as are eggs, as is beef, as is turkey etc. Whenever you take in an excess of *any* food you will put on weight - if you do it without exercise it will become fat, if you do it with resistance training it will be used for muscle. Your bf is wrong I'm afraid - if you don't stay motivated and keep drinking the shakes (if your overall calorie intake is higher than maintenace) you will just get fat.

So as long as your overall calorie intake is still fine, protein shakes WILL NOT give you muscles that you don't want. And can I recommend Slender Pro, a protein aimed specifically at women to help you do the job:

I will have porridge in the morning with glass of OJ.

for lunch @ 12:45 i will have soup and two slices of brown bread

another slice of bread @ about 15:30
and then chicken and vedge for dinner at 7:30

    then gym for work out

Too much starchy carbs, not enough protein, not enough healthy fats, not enough fruit and veg.

Whats your height and weight btw?
