We've had the best so who's the worst to have worn your team's colours?

Worst City XI from players I've seen -

    Simon Tracey

    Laurent Charvet
    David Sommeil
    Spencer Prior
    Lucien Mettomo

    Kiki Musampa
    Christian Negouai
    Martin 'Buster' Phillips

    Mattias Vuoso----Gerry Creaney----Lee Bradbury

So hard not to include Jon Macken

Brilliant, this was the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread on the best teams!
Again I presume this is to be on players you've seen as opposed to what you've heard! Villa from the early 90 onwards:

    Peter Enkleman

    Agathe---Knight---Ridgewell---Nelson

    -Lamptey---Bersen---Djemba-Djemba-

    ---Fashanu---Balaban---Milosevic---

So many honourable mentions I won't even got there!

    Man Utd:

    Taibi

    Prunier
    Blanc
    Poborsky---Djemba x2---Kleberson----Richardson
    Bellion----Dong

I cant really complete the defence because United have always had class full backs for as far back as I can remember. From what I hear, Ralph Milne was bloody awful though but I cant comment.

Surely John O'Shea is in there at left back!?

Edit/ I love the way Djemba x2 has appeared in 2 teams already!!

I refuse to acknowledge John O'Shea as a player any more...

    CB: Marcelino
    LB: Celestine Babayaro
MR: Kieron Dyer (more colossally disappointing than actually crap)

Yeah that's what I was going to say. Any time I've seen him play he has been really good...

I also think that a lot of reserve goalkeepers will get picked here just because they weren't the first choice...

Anyway. Everton's worst 11. Pretty much all the cr@p that Walter Smith bought during his reign of terror

    GK: Richard Wright
    DF: Marc Hottiger
    DF: Slaven Bilic
    DF: Claus Thomsen
    DF: Craig Short
    MF: Alex Nyarko
    MF: Idan Tal
    MF: Jamie Milligan
    MF: Paul Gascoigne
    ST: Michael Madar
    ST: Ibrahimo Bakayoko

Admitingly, Gazza and Bilic were top players in their day, but at Everton they were woeful/on their last legs...

Anytime I have seen Dong play for United he has looked miserably out of his depth. Yes, he has only made a couple of appearances, but 'that' miss in the European XI game last year was hilarious. Not United quality by a long shot, but if you dont want him included, I will happily take him out and sub in Jordi Cruyff.

I'd say Stuart Barlow was close to making that list. Mate of mine used to visibly wince whenever he was mentioned. Apparently they used to call him Jigsaw when he was at Everton because he always fell to pieces in the box.

    James[1]

    Traore[2]---Babb---Pellegrino[3]----Dicks[2]

    Nunez
    Ferri
    Diao
    Walters

    Dundee
    Morientes[4]

    A few notes:

    1. I picked David James because he undoubtedly cost us more points than any other goal-keeper. The likes of Pegguy Arphexhad rarely played, so it would be harsh to make a call like that.
    2. I picked two left backs. Just because they are far worse than any right backs I can think of.
    3. I understand he was brought in more as a semi-coach because he understood the zonal marking system, but when he played he was cack.
    4. Great player before and after joining us, but didn't look at all like a footballer when he played for us.

Ralph Milne was muck, could also include
Graeme Hogg, Terry Gibson, Peter Davenport, Brian Carey, Mal Donaghy, Ashley Grimes, Gary Birtles & so many more from Utd over the years.

I cant think of a worse right midfielder than Poborsky but feel free to correct me. As for Blanc, great player in his prime and although he wasnt awful for us, he was extremely slow and sadly just came to us 5 - 10 years too late.

I'd say Luke Chadwick and Chris Eagles are worse than Poborsky. Also surprised at no mention of Jordi Cryuff yet.

    Here's a shot at Celtic's worst XI

    M Hedman
    L Martin
    Du Wei
    Rafael
    S Guppy
    R Blinker
    M Hayes
    S Slater
    W Falconer
    T Cascarino &
    W Biggins

Also worth a mention are S Crainey, Rudi Vata, D Fernandez, Brattbak, Darren Jackson. Andy Payton & Aliadierre.
In fact I could have prob two teams of XI together, the 90's weren't much fun.

    Aston Villa

This is actually quite shocking but on August 31st 1987 Villa were bottom of the old Second Division and had this motley crew on the pitch against Manchester City.

    *Nigel Spink

Bernard Gallagher --- David Hunt --- Steve Simms --- **Martin Keown --- Kevin Gage

    Mark Burke --- Steve Hunt

Warren Aspinall --- Simon Stainrod --- ***Mark Walters

*Nigel Spink is a Villa legend so I would replace him with Peter Enkleman.
**Martin Keown was a good defender and of course he went onto bigger and better things with Arsenal so I will replace him with £1m, 5 game, Israeli flop, Najwan Ghrayib.
*** Mark Walters wasn't the best striker in the world but he did score 32 goals for Villa so I will replace him with £6m flop Bosko Balaban.

It was his fat ass that was his downfall. He was probably the laziest footballer ever at United. Had talent but wouldnt work to save his life. Even Le Tissier did more than him.

I was at his debut and he scored and peach of a volley against the champions Arsenal and I thought that midfield will win the league. All went downhill after that.

I don't think you can count Harewood (yet!) as he's only arrived at the club and hasn't really played yet (I know Balaban didn't play either, but he was bought back when £6m was a lot of money). I agree that he probably will be one of our worst ever, but I put Savo in as he was brought in a high profile striker to lead our strike force. Marlon is only a squad player.

    Nelson was absolutely rubbish.
Milosevic was rubbish is almost every game, but scored the odd spectacular goal which clouded everyone's memory (Carling Cup final!).
Ridgewell gave away about 8 own goals or penalties last season.
Knight has proved already that he's utter sh!te.

edit/ we've had a good recent history of Centre halves,(God, Southgate Ehiogu, Mellberg Laursen etc) thats why Knight and Ridgewell make it, even though I've seen worse.

Why not Taibi instead of Barthez?

Justy didnt like Webbs attitude. Lazy sod.

I put May at right full because I was struggling to think of a poor right full. He was a centre back but any time he played right full he looked awkward. Only reason.

Taibi didnt play enough. Barthez was a clown and cost United numerous games and a trophy or two. Remember the clown trying to put off DiCanio in the cup or chucking away a lead at Highbury all on his own. Or when Real won 6-5 on agg in CL quarter final...he was at fault for probably 4 goals over the two legs.

VERY harsh on Clayton Blackmore, he was a good player and does not deserve to be in any 'worst of' selection. David May also put in plenty of solid performances at United and rarely let them down when he played centre half.

The ones I'd have to agree with would be Djemba-Djeopardy, Kleberson and Junior Ferguson.

Eric Djemba Djemba will surely go down as one of the worst players to wear the jersey, closely followed by that waste of space Kleberson. Eric also has the dubious distinction of being picked for United AND Villa. What was Ferguson thinking at that time? To think he called Djemba-arse a possible replacement for Keane is just mind-boggling. Someone must have been spiking his wine!! It would be akin to replacing Robert De Niro with some bit-part stooge from Fair City.

Yeah Sunbed was a decent player. Had a couple of great seasons around 91/92 when he was the free kick specialist. And of course was a big hit with the ladies around Manchester on a Saturday night. :D

Gary Breen was a limited player, but on way one of the worst centre halves to play for Ireland.

You are pulling the piss putting Kavanagh on there. One of the better players we had for a period of time.

Lapira? A one cap wonder amatuer player whose uncle worked for the FAI? I wouldn'f acknowledge that corrupt pick of Stans by listing him.

I'm sorry but Kavanagh is pure sh1te. He offers nothing. Not a great tackler, slow etc etc. And whoever told him he could take a dead ball has a lot to answer for.

As I said it was an off the top of the head XI so feel free to do better.
