How high have you ever physically played??

It doesn't have to be successfully played, or played there long term, or be properly BR'ed for it, I was just wondering how high people had taken shots or were tilted and moved up to, maybe even a drunken rampage?

It could even be a BR crushing level that set you back a year worth of grinding.

600nl. got it in with a set v fd, he hit -> -600

then lost another 300 when i got it in with kk v flopped 2 pair to successfully halve my bankroll in less than an hour.

nothing to some but I've only moved to 100nl in the past 2 weeks

Although I was just wondering are we all BR nits on this site, or do we have many gamblers?

My 5/10 shot actually went well, I sat with 300 (LOL annoying short stacker!!) and I won 1.5k after reaching a Hi point of +3.5k which was nice the following morning, but too many times I've woken up the next day to see I've decimated my roll with some mental 2/4 or 3/6 HU games (where I don't short stack ), and I know I'm doing it at the time, but just don't give a fcuk, my latest escapade this weekend has brought me back to exactly even for the last 6 months (not including RB I've earned this month)!!

10/20 one night last year after I won a huge tourney on PPP. Won two pots and my mate convinced me to leave the table after we seen some guy lose 1k+ in one hand. He was probably right lol

Had a quite profitable spin up at 3/6 PLO one night.
Its was a very odd table full of shortstackers, I bought in full and busted the table

Should have made it clear, this poll obviously related to NL and PL only, I'm not sure what the equivalent levels for Limit are, but I know 100/200 NL is a MUCH bigger game then 100/200 Limit.

Anyone that knows maybe post a comparison, I think I remember reading somewhere that .50/1 NL is roughly equivalent to 3/6 Limit, is this correct or am I way off??

Never ever played higher than 3-6 even when I have had the cash to do it. My mate who is really bad at cards, once lodged 200 euro transfered into $$ and started at 1-2 and ended up playing 5-10 then 10-20 and was up to 2k. He has lost all that money since, lol. He has done something like this once or twice though.

I played a few hands of 50/100, but not with a full stack. The biggest games I've played have been 25 50 and 20 40, I'm not really bankrolled for either but don't mind taking shots especially live.

only playing poker 4 months and only ever deposited $100 so nothing crazy for me. Hit $200nl on PPP in a spinup attempt from money I had in my sport account....4 bet some guy all-in with A10 when he had KK (tilty mcspew) and stacked him, then lost it all in similarly spewy fashion. I'm keeping the higher levels as a surprise for when I reach them fully rolled. Still not played a hand live. Anyone wanna stake me for the Belgian National Championship in 2 weeks....?

I shortstack 5/10 games online occasionally. Don't really pay much attention to bankroll and affordability of games proportional to it (gambler).

Best result was running 200 up to 6000 in a couple of hours on Irisheyes.

Ive played 10/20 live, ive played 1 session of 10/20 online and pretty much hit and run when I called a raise on he button from an uber aggo dude with 97 the flop came 10 8 6 and I got it all in against his top set and held up. I ran.

Ive played some 5/10 plo also, not much but ive played some.

Got bored waiting for a 2-5 at the IO last year, was watching the 10-25 game and said i'll have a piece of that. Bought in for 2k, up to 2.5 after a hour then get aces on the button after 2 limpers, I make it 100, guy folds, other guy makes it 1000. Happy Days, I double check and shove, he snap calls.
4 blanks and a K on the river, I get that sick feeling that comes with being 2 outered in a 5k pot. He tables AQ:D

It has been the death of me mixing high limits with drink.It has put me from what should be a fairly profitable player this year to one that is down.I can account for €11k worth of online losses from 5-6 drunken online sessions where i cashed in the region of €2000-€4000 and played limits that ranged from $5-10 to $25-50.With the exception off one win at $25-50 where i flopped a set to an overpair for$6300 it has all been losing sessions.

I remember playing the biggest pot of my life with all of my bankroll at 10-20 nl on laddies.. I had turned 30e into 3k and had withdrawn 1.5k for hols.

Lost about 200 and put the rest into 10-20 ak a on flop ended up all in and getting called by aq.. 3k pot.. Ive never played one even half that size since..


I have played some 50-100:eek: (Why o why) limit on stars , but ive built bankrolls from very little a number of times, and once i withdraw a grand or two, i usually blow the rest taking shots on tilt.... Someday ill learn..

i dropped 5 buyins in quick time @.50/1 during the summer....i decided i wanted to recoup so moved up to 5/10 and proceed to lose another 500.
next step move down levels and turn into a BR nit.

yeah unfortunately i flopped the second nut flush when rob flopped the nut flush that time so i was gone by the time the game started getting crazy!

ive lost an absolute sh*tload playing drunk. played the $20/40 game on tribeca around 6 or 7 times and busted every single time. i didnt buy in full though so it wasnt so bad. played $25/50 plo on betfair around 3 times, one of the times it was probably the most pissed ive ever been. most i bought in for there was ~$1700 i think. i was so bad for it for a while i used to be really anxious checking my balance every morning i woke up. one morning my stars account was busted and i figured i had lost it drunk until my friend rang me that night and said it was him. id say im down around $13k or so lifetime while drunk.

highest ive played sober is $25/50 but i only had half the action. played $10/20 a few times aswell but not for a while now. it took a while but gradually i gained some self control lol.

I used to dabble at $20/$40 and took a couple of shots at $25/$50 until I withdrew 95% of my roll for life rake.

I did play and lose 3 $2000 HU Stt's one night after losing a $9k pot at $10/$20 which was pretty sick

Nothing spectacular but I did play back in Mullingar 1/3 live 6, then 12, then 25 straddles as we got deeper!!! :eek: or some nights we'd play 5/10NL live 25

whilst in amsterdam on a stag weekend i lost the other 25 odd guys. they were all pre-occupied. We'd be drinkin the day solid, including absinthe. i jumped in a taxi and asked for casino, and got brought to the hollandia. there were two queues as you enter, and when i got to the top i asked the manager what i thought sounded like "were is the poker" but to him it must have been differnt, as i was turned away. so i re-queued in the other one, doin my best to hide from him. got to the poker, and only limit games. i pushed for a NL game. we played 5-10, before we sat down i tipped the floor guy 20 quid for info on all the players, and then 10 euro for each bottle of corona he brought me. spun my 250 (min buy in) into 1400 or so, and then got it all in with a OESFD and missed in a three way pot. brilliant fun, getting under all their skins etc. next day as i was walking up the streets i was regretting not leaving as i looked in the shop windows and saw how much i could have buyed!

playing 25/50 live with fred and the boys in clonmel, as a couple have mentioned so far.
was regular playing 20/40 nl online at the time, thats quite stressful though, prefer to grind at 5/10 nowadays.
and, with a change of direction somewhat , instead on 2 tabling 5/10, im gonna try upping the hours and 5 or 6 tabling 3/6 now for a while.

I shortstacked and proceeded to double up on a 25/50 game on UB but that was only cause I grew frustrated not being able to withdraw.
