Lets just say...The Boss in Croker ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Driver 8

Really, not the RDS or Slane? Source? and when's the announcement gonna be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 63 ✭✭yogicolly

well from the rumours circulating on his fans websites an announcement is very near with uk & ireland dates set for the last two weeks in june. these rumours dont mention the venue but it is suppose to be 99% certain he is playing the millenium stadium which might mean he is planning on playing the 70000-80000 capacity stadiums this time so I reckon it might be croker.

What i was told from a source was that Bruce was doing a first leg tour, in smaller places and this first leg was not to be that big,

( the tour that we have at present )

more of a warm up, and starting next year, there would be a full stadium tour,

the guy never said where, but hinted that it would be the RDS,

Croke park though, would make sense, but would much prefer RDS,

RDS on a summers day with a couple Bulmers :D...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 239 ✭✭storka

I have also heard Croke Park mentioned. Aiken are obviously going to be the promoters and as far as im aware Croker is no longer only for use by the other promoters. Aiken want to get bigger so it would make most sense for them to do 80,000 with Springsteen in Croker rather than 30,000 (guess) in the RDS.

Think they can get 40/50k into RDS, think it was down last with Brucie and with Metallica,

and think it would better suit a big crowd, but that's just me,

    still i'll see Brucie anywhere...

Anywhere bruce plays anyways, i'm so there!:D

€81 for the RDS outdoors is very steep, better pray the wind doesn't blow........

there was talk today of 2 dates having been pencilled in, so no surprise if there's a second once the first starts selling well......

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,577 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

yea i honestly think €81 is quite expensive even though it is the Boss. i'll have to think about this since i am going to get tickets to a certain gig(not festival) in punchestown in June.

Wonder if Danny Federici will be back by then, though I guess not. :(

i dont think its expensive to see a legend like this.he could sell the tickets for €150 and i guarantee it will still sell out...

I'll be hoping to get tickets then. 81euro is ridiculous for a gig but I'm willing to pay for the Boss! But I don't think any of my mates will be willing to pay that much so I'm probably going to have to buy 2 tickets and treat a friend.

I'm so excited! I hope I get tickets now..

wonder what effect this will have on ticket prices for the Belfast gig. a lot of tickets are in the hands of touts hoping to make a killing. announcement of gig now may be deliverately designed to frustrate them.

Whats the best way of getting tix ?

    Queing up for them ?

logging on to ticketmaster.ie at 8am this wednesday ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,425 ✭✭✭indiewindy

buying online should be your best bet, be careful though, they went on sale before the advertised time for the Belfast gig:mad:
the tout website is already selling tickets for the RDS for over €200:eek:
Don't know how they got hold of them before their officially on sale

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 49 livelife

How many tickets can you buy per person..would anyone know?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Driver 8

My question is when would a second night be announced?

I remember with the November Seeger shows, the third night was announced about an hour after the first two went on sale, it's gonna be a bitch having to keep checking back to see if there's another show

all them touts deserved to be scalped. i wonder would they appreciate the irony.

Can anyone make a rough guess at how quickly the tickets will sell out? I will have to make a special effort to be in early for work tomorrow morning, I certainly don't want to miss out on The Boss.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 337 ✭✭'Ol Jack Chance

id say really quick like 3-4 minutes. im quing tonight and have mates trying net and phone in morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 201 ✭✭coolhandc

im going to say within two minutes...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 570 ✭✭✭BrandonBlock

I wouldn't say the whole thing will even sell out I mean if the RDS can take 50k now , and another date will more than likely be added (Aiken are known for those tactics) that's another 50k = 100,000 people? That's a fraction of the entire population. Odyssey in belfast only holds 10,000 so naturally would sell out.

I can see additional dates being added with the demand. Would be great to see him in somewhere like Slane.

Unlikely. He has never done two dates in succession in Dublin, iirc, and the RDS Stadium is 25,000 - 30,000 capacity according to their website - big enough to satisfy most fans and small enough to generate a rush for tickets. Recent practice has been to hold 2,000 tickets back for release on the day of the show to frustrate touts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭big_show

Anyone know how many are allocated per person? im looking for about 6 tickets but im kidding myself, i reckon 4 is more realistic...

It took 8 min for belfast to sell out.
The will sell out in 20-30 min's sometime around about than.

there will i'd imagine be an extra date.thats why the first concert is on thurs to leave friday open.

Should be ok ,70% yes 30 % no.

The problem is that ticket agents have system's which can purchase 1000's in one go..where as the public can only buy 4.

They should have limited for 2 per person, this would mean everyone on the net, telephone and q's would have a 95% chance of getting tickets.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 337 ✭✭'Ol Jack Chance

yeah im thinking seriously about quing have no idea what time to go in at? 5ish to be sure? anyone any ideas?

No they dont. Sure the website has that thing where it makes you input the word on the screen in that weird image box, none of that old software can get around it.

The professional touts are blatantly getting them for backhanders from ticketmaster employees or even ticketmaster themselves. Sure look at some of them even on sale before they're even released to the public!
Just furthermore goes to show just how hypocritical, greedy and unscrupulous ticketmaster are.
