Please note the legislation in Ireland regarding deactivated firearms. You will need garda permission in writing to own a deactivated firearm. If you buy a deact somewhere you will also need an Article 7 authorisation to bring the deact into the country. Otherwise you may ask a firearms dealer to do it for you.

British Pathe- has large amount of videos relating to the Ireland, and a few on 1916 and other military events
example - Irish army at the start of ww2
another example Irish in the Congo

WW2 German Newsreels - on youtube has alot of German newsreels from WW2 (go figure :rolleyes:) as does the rest of youtube with a quick search

Wikimedia commons is good for Press photos from the german Bundesarchiv. just search for "bundesarchiv" and what you are looking for in german i.e. Panther, Sanitäter, sevastopol, gewehr etc...

It is a French company that publishes books and DVDs about military uniforms and equipment.

I found them after seeing one of their great books in the local library about the American Paratroopers in WWII.

It had full colour pictures from the war and models wearing full equipment and uniforms. The company is French, but this book was in English. The book was a good quality hardback.

I looked around online and the prices some site were asking were crazy.

I have not bought anything from this company, but they do
ship to Ireland, according to their website.
You can download their colour catalog here. It is a 25MB Adobe pdf file, and it is in French.
