Arthritis & exercise

    Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could give me some advice.
I am a 27 year old female, not really overweight but would like to tone up and get fit, but i have arthritis.
I do exercise but i find my knees get quite painful and get a numb feeling in them after about 20 minutes or so. I use one of those thigh shaper stepper things at the moment.
I am thinking that maybe this isn't the best of things to be using as i am causing a high impact on my knees so could anyone recommend what exercise and what machines are best to use for people like me? With the job i do it's not always possible to get to go swimming but i do try. That's why it is ideal for me to have these machines at home.

    Any advice appreciated.

This is a question you should be asking a doc or a physio I think!
But I would suggest a stationary bicycle - my Dad is also arthritic and he uses his everyday as prescribed by the doc.

I highly recommend you purchase a copy of The pH Miracle by Dr Robert O Young and make the nutritional changes he recommends.

My dad, 61, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2005. He was in awful pain (shoulders and fingers especially). The doctors told him there was no cure and if he didn't take the medication they prescribed, it would get even worse.

He followed the alkalising principles that Dr Robert O Young recommends in his book and the symptoms decreased dramatically. It pretty much changed my dad's life in terms of relieving agonising pain, which he was told would never ever get any better.

Young reckons that arthritis is a result of overacidity in the body and that it can be reversed by eating 70-80% alkalising foods, with only 20-30% of your foods coming from the acid-forming category. Check out www.snyderhealth.com to find out more.

    Hope that helps
