    Right, I'll go first.

    Two things.

    The difference between e.g. and i.e. -

I like cars, e.g. Fiat, Ferrari, Porsche and Toyota.

The difference between decimate and obliterate.
    Decimate: destroy 10% of something
    Obliterate: destroy 100% of something

when steven gerrard made his league debut for Liverpool as a sub against Blackburn Rovers in November 1998 at Anfield he entered the field of play without a name or number on the back of his shirt; nobody knew who the hell he was, i sure didn't as i couldn't first see his face and i was only a few rows from the dugout that evening.

Up to 11,000 greyhounds are 'unaccounted for' every year in Ireland - and they make great family pets.

A panther is actually a leopard, except it suffers from a condition called mellanomin (im not arsed looking up the proper spelling) that causes its coat to be all black instead of spotted.

Or the fact that "should of/would of/could of" do not have any meaning.

When you want to say that you are something, it's you're, not your. (You'd be surprised how many people make that mistake)

Amongst numerous other mistakes, "means" should be replaced with "refers to" in the above statements.

There are no statues in O'Connell St (Dublin).

Israeli's sixth president was born and raised in Ireland.

And finally (for now) my great grandfather was taken prisoner of war in France (WWI) and later escaped.

The reason Germany's away shirt (soccer) is green . Is gesture of respect to IRELAND...
(ONLY TEAM THAT WOULD PLAY THEM AFTER WW2)

    Not true.

Ireland were, I think, the fourth team to play the FRG after WWII.

    Edit....

From the German national team page on Wikipedia:
The green away jersey comes from the fact that the DFB's (Deutscher Fußball-Bund) official color is green yet a very common myth associated with Germany's use of a green-coloured away jersey is in recognition of the fact that Ireland were supposedly the first nation to play Germany in a friendly game after World War II. This is false. Their first match after WWII was in fact against the Swiss.

Wrong, that is just us Irish thinking everyone loves us!
Switzerland were the first country to play West Germany officially after WW2 and even unofficially before FIFA readmitted them in either '49 or '50.

Maine is the only US state with one syllable in its name. (For northsiders: it's not May-in)

Alaska is the most easterly state in the US.
