    Torque upgrade.

Someone (harryhirsch) had mentioned in a post today that they installed a 300% torque upgrade kit. What will the torque upgrade influence? Rate of fire? responsiveness? Do you need a hi-spec motor to use one?

Not much really unless you put in a higher spring. The torque upgrade is usually to drive a spring thats runs at about 450fps and so is incredibly tough to compress, thats all the torque up does. Also to run it properly your really supposed to have a 12V battery...thus making it pointless again!

As said above a torque upgrade is for guns going above 1 joule. For what we use, you would idealy be looking at either a speed upgrade(ROF) or just better gears for longevity.

Ah I see, scratch the torque upgrade so, I'll look at better gears and motor options so.

I've just installed them because of the quility. They seem to be much better than the usual xyt or ca gears. The move smoother.

You could've gotten a Systema High Speed set that'd do a much better job than a pointless Torque Up set tho.

anything that puts less stress on a spring is not pointless. it wont do the aeg any harm but it will reduce the stress on the motor.

It doesnt put less stress on the spring, infact, if it worked properly it would put MORE pressure on the spring...hence why its used to drive stronger springs.

sorry, my bad, i ment less strain on the motor. if its easier to compress the spring, upping the ROF gets easier too.

But you see its not overall power output thats increased, its torque. So its doesnt move it better or faster,it just gives a higher compression ratio on the gears meaning it can drive a more powerful piston...its hard to explain on here!

i know it doesnt, but what i ment was, with the upgrande its easier for the motor to compress the spring, and making it easy to compress the spring pays off when you try to up the ROF as the spring needs compressing alot faster.

Yeah but a Systema High Speed Gear set would do the same in that respect.
