Hi , I posted this on another thread on BOARDS.It was decided that this is something to do with sailing.

Hi, I bought this, for the frame its in and decided I should find out what it is before I bin it.
I have asked local Rugby club and they had no idea, so a cahllange for someone up to it.They believed it was for Marsial AArts, which is why I post it here.Mods feel free to move it , if this is the wrong place.
    thanks,cathy

    Replies have been

At a rough guess, I would say something to do with Hong Kong, the crown and dragon, could be a boat club or horse racing possibly
    Any ideas ?cathy

Looks like an old logo from the Royal Hong kong Yacht Club. Seems likely given the shape of the flag.

It looks like a burgee from the Royal Hong Kong yacht club. They're used to identify where a boat is from and are more a courtesy flag than anything else. The crown means it's unlikely to be martial arts related.

Seeing that it is in a frame, it was probably presented to someone by the Club. Maybe someone from Europe who had worked and sailed in Hong Kong for a few years was presented with it when he was leaving. Sometimes Clubs exchange Burgees with each other.
Maybe a Yacht Club or Sailing Club near you might be interested in it.
    Jim.

    Info that I got.

a person is given a burgee as a gift or you can buy them - we sell our current burgee in our Ship Shop and anyone can get them. We also present them to visiting VIPs etc.

a burgee is a common flag. If the flag was a Commodore's, Vice Commdore's, Rear Commodores' flag then that's different and they look a little different. They are only presented to people holding that position. This is the old burgess from HOng Kong
I am waitng for more info fromKOKO from there,
    thanks,cathy
