Am I going to die?

    Well its not as serious as the above title but I did eat mustard 4 months out of date last nite and it tasted as lovely as ever (dijon as i know some people will ask) but im wondering does mustard actually go out of date? or is it immune to time and ageing? I looked deeper into my fridge and found 4 year old mustard it looked and smelled somewhat the same but I wont hazdard it just yet.

    jsut wondering does anyone have any info on this subject of aging mustard

    hehe yeah i guess. but also mustard is vinegar and vinegar natural preseravtive but im still not going near that 4 year old mustard

    It probably depends on if the seal is broken or not. I was quite appalled discovering that the taste of out-of-date mustard (by 2 or 3 month) when already open had lost its 'punch' and tasted slightly sour and off.

    I wonder if it is different for mustard that is out-of-date but has not been opened before.

    No, I have (accidentally) eaten mustard that was over 2 years old. While it didnt taste very nice, I am still here to complain about it on the internet.
