    Hi All,

This Saturday, November 3rd from 1-3 we'll be having an open day at Crossfit Ireland.

The point is for people who are curious about the Crossfit approach to fitness to call down and try out a workout, chat to us about our exercise philosophy and techniques used.

If you're a total fitness novice you're more than welcome to come down and check the place out.

Equally, if you're a competitive athlete or serious gym rat and just want to shoot the breeze or get some heavy squats in, it'd be great to have you out.

For more information check out www.crossfit.ie and www.crossfit.com

If anyone has any questions or needs help with directions please call me on 086-8151092.

    Colm

    Hey Colm,

Just wondering if you have any plans to open a gym/do classes in any other part of Dublin - somewhere nearer the city centre perhaps? Tallaght is very far away :-)

Tallaght ain't that far away boys! I do have clients coming from Old Town, Maynooth, and even further away. Dubs just seem to get a little content and not like to travel I feel. :)

Personally I haven't read anything by Tudor Bompa.

As regards Crossfit being periodized it's not claimed to be. While there is varied areas of focus it can get complicated when you attempt to define exactly what periodization is or what could be classed as periodization.

The definition of our program would be functional movements performed at high intensity to produce broad, general, inclusive fitness - general preparedness.

Periodization for a lot of people is in preparation for a single event or point in time, whereas Crossfit's program would be to keep you in as high a state of fitness at all times. In essense, periodization would aim to have you at A+ right on the day but a B every other time, Crossfit would keep you at A-

In strict terms, for high professionals, or athletes with a single even in mind, periodization may work best (dependant on the sport). For those invovled in a seasonal sport with games every week, we believe a CF methodology would work best.

Sure come down to the Open session and we'll talk more about your aims and training fees. Even get in some deadlifting as well!

    TTT for Saturday.

Should be a good day as there's been a fair bit of interest. Feel free to pop in anytime between 1 and 3. Anybody having issues with directions or anything just give me a shout.

    Thanks,
    Colm

Thanks to everyone who came out today, it was a real taste of what Crossfit in Ireland is becoming - everyone sharing ideas, pushing themselves in their workouts, and having fun. Great day!

There'll be vids of the workouts done up over the next week on www.crossfit.ie

If anyone wanted to come out but forget remember you're always welcome to try a week at Crossfit Ireland before joining.

    Thanks again,
    Colm
