30% back on the Wii, Xbox 360 (Core and Premium), PS3(40gb and 60gb), DS and I think the PSP also and on all video games. The 30% back is in Clubcard vouchers.

I presume that is from midnight tonight? Might do a ring around and see is it worth the trip! Last time, I couldn't find any stores that had them in stock. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, you get the vouchers in Febuary.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,373 ✭✭✭ongarite

Is it 30% of the RRP of all the items or do you get the amount in vouchers next time out?
PS3 looks very tempting if its another 30% off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭spongbob

    Hi ongarite,
Its 30% back in vouchours and not 30% off RRP, i must also mention there is absoulutly no bundle pack available on the PS3 / Xbox 360 like you would see in the likes of smyths, argos, gamestop etc etc. so keep in mind if u buy a ps3 you will need to get yourself a game or two and as they are not inluded as a bundel pack iT will cost you FULL price on the day and recieve your vouchours in Febuary

it is however a great deal if you were just looking for games and software :)

Thanks for the info. Might pick up Halo3 on the cheap then..

So what do Tesco generally charge for the 360? I'm just trying to figure out whether one would still be better off going for a bundle in a different retailer.

Also I'm living in the UCD area, does anyone know what Tesco's in the south city or city centre stock 360's? I've tried Merrion, Stillorgan (the homeware shop - they only seem to have original Xbox) and Baggot st but no luck.

Dundrum might be your best bet, it is large and also a 24 hour one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 667 ✭✭✭spongbob

i was in athlone tonite and they tought it was for ONLY the nintendo wii stuff, some places have different stories lol, if ur after a psp ur best take a trip down early and see whats going on...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,044 ✭✭✭Sqaull20

Can you get as many games and consoles as you want,or is limited to 1 console 3 games per clubcard or something?

The ps3 40gig version is €400 everywhere and the games in the smyths deal for €499 dont interest me...Say I get the ps3,pro evo 08,Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas,Heavenly Sword,Halo 3 it will cost me €730 with €219 back in vouchers....Brillant deal imo

Didnt see any Blue Ray films the last time I was in tesco, has that changed?

    Good news, cheers op.

Worth mentioning it's only worth getting games that are new releases. My local Tesco is still selling games at 70 euro that are selling in Virgin / HMV for 20 (Top Spin / Saint's Row etc).

Might pick up PES 2008 tomorrow though alright - works out at 42 euro after discount.

Clarehall branch said their electronics section is closed and so couldn't sell me a Nintendo DS when I was there at midnight.

They informed me it would be open at 4 am and I could buy it then.

Sounds kinda like BS. Did anyone else pick up a midnight console?

Picked up Nintendo DS in Clarehall this morning, seemed to have plenty. They also had PS3s, definitely the 40GB, not sure about the 60GB.
    Thanks to OP.

If you are looking for a Wii try the Roscommon branch. They may have one but I don't think they have many Wii games.

Just back from Dundrum, no Wiis but plenty of DS in stock - all colours. Also saw PSPs and XBox plus PS 2 and 3 (not sure which size ).

Ive heard the vouchers you get back are for money off in whatever area the original purchase was made. Is this true or can the vouchers be used on your groceries?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,534 ✭✭✭Dman001

I think it was only on for today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,449 ✭✭✭WeleaseWoderick

Got a 40gb PS3 in Tesco Bray at around half five today. They had about 4 or 5 more on display.

No Wiis left in stock, but they seemed to have a load of DS lites still available.

No sign of XBox 360 at all and they only stock PS2 games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73 ✭✭leptonite

    Hi,

Went into Tesco Sligo this morning to get a DS Lite and no one there had heard of any 30% voucher back deal. They said it would have been advertised.

    Where was it advertised?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 194 ✭✭lizzyd66

It was in the Sunday Independent - full page ad. Ring Tesco headoffice /customer service number tomorrow and make sure you get your credit!

is this 30% back offer on consoles still on?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Gauge

Ahhh no! I saw they had a bunch of Wiis in my local Tesco a few weeks back so I was keeping an eye out for the inevitable offer and it looks like I just missed it.

FFS, I work in the same shopping centre too! Boooo :(

I have the page from the Sunday World and it says the offer is on until Sunday 4th november. Anyone know if tesco finglas has any xboxes?

    Yes I did in Dundrum.
Got the last Wii but there was one in the cup[boared with "hold for xxx" on it?
They had to go to the store room to get it.
That was at 11pm on the Sunday night and I along with a blond girl who had a DS had to walk around the store for an hour before the discount kicked in.
Wii's seem to be the console wanted this Xmas.
It applies to all game and consoles until 4/11 as previously stated in other posts.
Good offer but really only useful for the hardware and NEW games.

Anyone know if tesco finglas has any xboxes?
Easier to ring them, you could also try asking them to hold it for you, tell them you're come up from Galway or something like that.

I picked up a silver DS in Tesco Dundrum at about 10pm last night - they seemed to have plenty of all colours in stock.

I'm thrilled - not the least because my bf spilled beer all over my DS lite about 2 weeks ago and fried it.

I find it hard to believe they never heard of it. I would have bought a paper in Conways which had the ad and brought it up to them.

They must have learned from you as i was in there at 6, and the place is plastered with promotional posters now. All your way up the stairs, in front of the big shelf of Consoles and in front of 3 shelves of games.

They have 1 Wii left, plenty of Playstations and XBox 360's and a couple of DS's too.

Yeah, I was in Clarehall around 11.30pm on Sunday - was planning on doing some shopping, then paying for the DS when the discount kicked in. Little did I know it would be a wasted journey. :(

    Vin Diesel? ;)

Does any of the Tesco's do PC games anymore? Tesco in Letterkenny sure don't do much in that line anymore, unfortunately.

They do budget titles in the Sligo one i think.

Like a 3 game bundle of Chessmaster etc. for 15 euro or so but don't think they have modern titles.

    Could be wrong though!

Aye, Letterkenny seems to be same, old budget stuff, but no new games. I think they used to, they must've stopped. Pity.
