Every week i hear more an more complaints about pocket jacks most of which are from players who are are incapable of laying down ACE RAG!!
Just wondering how people rate jacks? i find them to be quite a tricky hand to handle always seem to get into trouble an outdrawn with them( last nite i seen 4's 7's and 9's hold up against ace king while i seen jacks murdered four times in similar fashion)

I'll take Jacks anyday of the week. If you can't lay them down when the situation asks then obviously don't play them. Alot of people can't lay down paint full stop, whether its KQ, JQ or JJ.

People get into trouble with them alot. But its their fault, not the Jacks.
most people (the average punter) over rate pocket pairs. And because of this they are not aware of the relative strength of JJ. Against AK aipf, JJ is about as strong as 77. If lay in love with ace rag, then they are not letting JJ go on a bad flop.

    In before lockdown.

Oh, and I love hearing people say 'I hate JJ' or my favourite, 'Aces never win'. YOU never win, Aces do.

that lad with the beanstalk aswell

I much prefer JJ to the usual 7/4o...

they are a premium hand which have to be played with caution after the flop.... a lot of players don't know how to play them or leave them down when obviously behind...

best way to play them is to hit another one :)

I know a player who plays in the jackpot regularly, he is a decent player and can get far but he falls for the favourite hand or i hate that hand.
On the bubble of a 40 runner game, shortie goes all in from the CO with 4 BBs, his BB he folds JJ. I have seen him fold it in some terrible spots.

Jaques is a very good and efficient dealer but weve never got on. He's called me out needlessly on numerous things. I could have called him out on chit chatting too much with the locals he knows while dealing but i didnt because thats the sort of guy i am.

Pokahstove says that even though Jecks are 50-50 preflop to Anna Kournakovia, Ace King are 65% to hit on the flop, its just that you can hit Jecks on the tern and river that evens it. Peple dont see enouf rivers you see.

When the board reads KKKAA and 2 ppl give lots of action, then your house is no good ;).

If your house is kings full of jacks i fully agree unless the villains are 'one night at mc cools' and jayminator then your golden because your representing a better hand and no way they could call for a split and if one has the king they will put me on the pocket aces.

The thing that I hate about Jacks is that my table is always furthest away from them, and the next break isn't for 20 minutes and I am absolutely bursting.:o:o:eek:

My 1st hand in the IPO I had pocket jacks but with a raise, 2 calls and a re-raise I let them go.
    K10, Q10 AQ & AK
    Board was 10 high.
    True story
    :)
