Some posts in the "Dirty Frying Pan" thread got me thinking about the best snacks to accompany beers.

If, like Preusse, you make your own bespoke snacks - share your recipes here too.

To kick off - my snack preferences would be:
    BBQ Hula Hoops
    Snax
    Cheese Balls
    Doritos Xtreme Chili Tortillas

I usually snack on about 20 Marlboro Lights on a night out on the beer...!
I'm one of those freaks that cant snack on anything when i'm drinking, like crisps / bacon fries peanuts etc... I can drink and have a meal don't know why the snacks don't work for me..

Don't really snack when i'm boozing on a night out. But if I was in the pub during the day watching the rugby or something toasted sandwiches are the way forward. Delicious.

Purple packet Nik-Naks used to work for me.

Don't really get into snacking if I'm out at the pub these days, but if I'm having a few at home and Mrs Big B brings me through some melted cheddar on batch loaf...........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

For little snacks while drinking it's hard to beat Tayto cheese & onion
    Bacon Fries
    Rancheroes

    For a slightly larger snack
    dürüm döner
toasted ham, cheese & onion sandwich
taco chips with cheese on top
    currywurst

I'll get onto it right away.

    My own personal recommendations:

    Dorito's Cheese flavour
    Walkers Sensation's Chilli flavour

    And my personal favourite

a 12" pizza with everything on it from the local pizza place.

Mmmmm, curry sausage. I never actually tried one, but I like the sound of it.

    Now I am hungry.

im partial to mr tayto's acclaimed cheese and onion flavoured snacks..i feel they really compliment the heineken beverage i enjoy.

for a larger snack you cant beat a toasted ham and cheese sandwich.

If I'm drinking at home I'm a big fan of microwave popcorn with loads and loads (and I mean LOADS) of melted butter on it (and it has to be Kerrygold!)

if I'm out drinking I'm partial to garlic and cheese chips from Ricks on Dames Street as a "on the way home" snack!

I miss them....I miss them very much :( Together with gyros (nice crispy ones, the first batch when you come into the chipper before anyone else gets a cut) and tzatziki (garlic kinda sauce). I just had a light snack: two sirloin steaks, fries, pepper sauce, and mayo (crushed 4 cloves of garlic into it as well just to annoy the mistress).

    OK brothers.

I think any form of chocolate, or any 'sweet' snack is an abomination with beer.

    Savoury/salty all the way.

Anyone ever had the Pork Scratching things they have in some pubs in England? The things that still have some of the pig's hair on them?

    Delish.

What? Here's a picture of them.

The one on the left, at about 8 o clock still has hairs sticking out of it.

Ha .. there's one bottom right, about 5 o'clock that looks like a pigs head. Made me laugh.

I haven't had these in years, but they are damn tasty! :)

I really miss Döner and Gyros and tzatziki and Spießbraten. The list is endless! :(

Pizza, anything salty and King cheese and onion go great with beer. King cheese and onion pwns its Tayto counterpart!

    Forgot about this thread. :o

Although you're right, King and Tayto cheese & onion are made seperately (unless that's changed recently). They're not the same and as such, King tastes sooo much better than Tayto.

King and Tayto salt & vinegar flavour, on the other hand, are actually the exact same.

A wimmin trying to educate me on greasy food?!:p
