    Hey guys..

Im currently changing my diet to be healther as of late to something like this...

special k (with berries) with low fat milk...(morning)

salad/pasta salad for lunch, some sort of bread and water (lunch)

pasta with an organic mix-in sauce..or something made myself (with or without lean mince) milk + fruit for dinner...

Could this be eaten on a daily basis (with a small change now and again..different meats etc for dinner etc) and would it seem relatively healthy to eat?

at the moment I am not exercising (busy with college and some other aspect in my life at the moment) but i do intend to organise something within the next 2 weeks...

    Does that sound ok?

    thanks for the help

    teddi :D

    errrrrr no:rolleyes:

Special k = crap change to oats , about 40-60 grams dried weight, and eat some protein to your breakfast
You diet seems extremely lacking in protein you need to eat it with every meal

“salad/pasta salad for lunch, some sort of bread” pasta and bread = to many carbs cut the bread and where’s the protein ?? Just throw a tin of tuna in there.

“Organic mix in sauce” what’s in it ???

You can get away with eating 3 time a day but you rely need to be eating 5-6 time a day at 2-3 hour intervals , have a read of the sticky’s
    ;)

How is his suggested diet UNHEALTHY??

He could be eating frys and fast food every day. Changing to what he suggests would be a great step forward.

Don't be so quick to dismiss without knowing what the full story is.

Besides, I don't know the full story either. And OP, your diet is quite likely "healthy" in that it won't cause you to be sick and will allow you to function perfectly well. But it is not what would be considered "optimal" if you're trying to lose some fat. But tbh if you're coming from a really crap diet and no exercise it would be a great starting point.

    Special k = crap
    +1
I used to find Special K gave me a MASSIVE sugar crash later in the morning. I eat sugar-free or organic muesli now. I personally find porridge too stodgy first thing.

Base your diet around veg and meat, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar for optimum health.

The diet you described is enough to get by (again, depending on your current health levels it might be an improvement) but if you're going to invest the energy get the book and make the changes.

Don't be disheartened by the comments about your diet - it's what most people have been told is healthy. Unfortunately, we need to remember the food industries motives for telling you what is healthy.

    So true!
Maybe we should have a sticky of the 'most common fitness misconceptions'!!

Tis an idea, though I could see disagreements.

Maybe start a thread first to discuss some of them, and if a consensus is reached, the mods could put together a list?

Very lacking in vitamines and minerals.....too many sources of instant energy, not enough long term, not even close to enough amino acids ( they do more than just make muscle guys ) and no healthy fats that i can see.

Just because someone is NOT eating take aways does not mean they are eating healthy.
