All righty. I've created a Social.ie event for this.

Full details here. Could somebody who knows the place check the map and make sure it is accurate, the Long Stone's website's map is a tad obscure. We can't have punters ending up in Pearse Garda Station, now can we?

Map is right. It's a hard pub to miss, there's a big Longstone written on the side wall. I shall endeavour to drop in for a beverage.

Ah, I think I know it. I can certainly picture a pub with big writing at the side of it, I just never paid any attention to it.

As a matter of interest, how will we recognise each other?

We fall into one of two categories:

Late 20's/early 30's professionals who look like they are out for a few civilised after-work drinks

    or

lumbering slobs with barely a head of hair among them and of ample girth, gagging for a drink, ogling every female that walks by, especially if she is carrying platters of food

Alternatively, we could invent a secret BG+RH handshake.

The beer gutted and follically challenged should stand out.

see if we reserve an area, we can put up a sign saying Yore Ma's and then we would know who we are are

i might drop in on my way home from work and see if they will reserve one or two tables for us

or else we could agree to wear/bring carnations :)

Wouldn't we all look a bit stupid wearing tins of condensed milk?

That would be great if you could.

And where would we put them, seeing as we don't have hair.

I could think of one or two places.....

It is possible to reserve the snug in the Longstone. Should easily fit 20 people around the 3 tables.

I ventured into the Longstone this evening to sample their ales. I deem them worthy.

I assume no one has any issue with me tagging along? Brother Tom knows of me and my beering ways.

although I haven't been a regular visitor here since the first few weeks I'm hoping to make it along to this. hopefully it is the least nerdy that any event organised online could be!

    Ah now, brother Zaph.

Let's be honest here - nerds are hardly BG+RH material. With no disrespect intended to nerds.

Now don't be putting words into my mouth!

Brother copacetic was worried that nerds might show up, so I decided that I wouldn't entirely erase the doubts from his mind. ;)

I'm getting worried now, in normal company I can be the most techie/nerdy, compared to the average boardsie I'm not. Have the nerds taken over the brethern while I wasn't looking?

Nah, don't worry Brother copatetic, the most technical thing a Brother can manage is the tap on one of them new-fangled Heineken kegs.

A wise move, no point running before you can walk, or drunkenly stumble...
