Absolute bargain considering you get the 4 buzzers... i'm going for it anyways!

Works out at £29 (+ £2 delivery) so about €44.50. It's not gonna be nearly this cheap in your local Smyths / Gamestop.

    807461_GS_M_F.JPG
Scene It?® Lights, Camera, Action brings friends and family together for a casual movie trivia game that everyone can play and enjoy. Using the simple and intuitive Big Button Pad, challenge your friends to see whose movie knowledge reigns supreme, with real content from your favorite movies and actors.

    * New puzzle challenges: The Xbox 360 game includes more than 1,800 questions not seen before in any otherScene It? game. It features five new types of puzzle challenge that are sure to keep you guessing all night long.
    * Game types: Enjoy "Credit Roll," where you guess the film based on the list of characters and actors, "Child’s Play," where you guess the name of the film based on a child’s drawing of a film scene, and "Quotables," where you are challenged to finish a famous line from a featured film. In addition, all 21 puzzle types have been designed to provide the ultimate multiplayer experience on Xbox 360.
    * Big Button Pad: Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is shipped with four new wireless Big Button Pads, so each player has his or her own buzzer. Making games such as Scene It? more approachable for all types of players, the Big Button Pad takes its inspiration from the game show buzzers of yesteryear but uses the latest infrared technology to minimize the chances of an argument over who answered first.
    * Hi-def visuals: The game offers a wide assortment of movie clips in HD format, as well as hundreds of stills and audio clips from your favorite films.
    * Minimal repeats: The Xbox 360 version keeps track of questions that have already been asked and minimizes repeats so you rarely get the same question twice.

Some more info / trailers / images from the game here!

I'm so tempted, I think this will be great at Xmas, I'd pwn my boyfriend's family at movie trivia ;)
    Good tip basquille!
Not sure what's up with Virgin's release date on that page, it says Nov 2nd but I checked Game and Play and they both say end of November.

    I second that daming!:p

Just ordered it. Complete impulse purchase, but then again, it is the season to be jolly!;)

Yeah, Virgin are indecisive about this.

Ordered Indiana Jones Trilogy one week and wasn't charged. Went back to order something else the next week and it was £2 extra.

Oh.. and the release date is 6th November according to it's Wikipedia page.

Amazon say the 2nd as well so I'd say it is sometime that week, think I'll order it from Virgin too.

No delivery charge for me, so €41.55!

Can those controllers be used with other 360 games, past, present or future?

I really doubt it.. unless Halo's control system has changed to just one HUGE button to fire.! :D

Good news is the possibility of more questions downloadable from XBOX Live so when you run outta the 1800, you can download more.

Bastard, Brian (and I mean that in the nicest possible way). :D

Well the big button is the D pad, and the 4 coloured buttons are the 4 main buttons on the pad. So theoretically as long as you don't need the shoulder buttons or analogue sticks, you should be ok...

    Ah that is good.
But I'm really thinking in terms of other non-movie trivia games. General knowledge etc...

I keep going back to try and order it and avoid the delivery charge but it keeps asking me for £2. I wonder is it your first order's delivery is free?

EDIT: Indeed it seems to be.... re-registered with a different e-mail address and am sending it to my parent's house. Wasn't charged postage!

Tip for gmail users - you own all combinations of your gmail address with dots. So all of the following are yours and will work (and all accessed from your main gmail account):

    joebloggs@gmail.com
    joe.bloggs@gmail.com
    j.o.e.bloggs@gmail.com
    j.o.e.b.l.o.g.g.s@gmail.com

    More info

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Think you can also use a plus sign and numbers. Like so:

    joebloggs+1@gmail.com
    joebloggs+2@gmail.com
    joebloggs+3@gmail.com
    joebloggs+4@gmail.com

EDIT: Yeah, just tried it there and it worked. But "Dave's Dot Method" (can i patent that? It's got a catchy ring to it!) is probably easier to remember.

well spotted, this'll be the job around christmas! and i didn't get hit for delivery either!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Got an e-mail from Virgin saying this will now be released November 16th.

    :(

As long as it's here for Christmas, i'll be happy!

    Got the same mail.

Who do they think they are, CD-WOW? :D

Amazon is saying Nov 7th, wonder if that'll be true :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

According to Eurogamer, its the 16th.
    GameFAQs says the 23rd.

    I'm guessing (hoping!) it'll be the 16th.

By the way, use code VMD123 to get it for £26.40 including delivery (just over £4 cheaper than Basquille's original post).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Yeah, i cancelled mine at the weekend and re-order using the code! :D

How did you manage to cancel? Can't see the option!:o

Also, is it worth cancelling since you'll be losing out on the currency exchange back into your card, and then re-ordering into sterling again?

Anyone's shipped yet? Mine says 'Awaiting Manual Intervention' in the status of the order.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,158 ✭✭✭deadduck

mine just says 'in progress', whatever that means

Same here. Got an email on the 15th saying the order was cancelled, but the status of the order says the same as yourself "Awaiting manual intervention". Sent them an email but no response. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Could it be as we feared? The original cheapie price was a mistake, and we will get an apology email over the next day or two?

Edit: Don't think it was a mistake - its still listed as 29.99 on the website. Mine is "In Progress".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

    Mine is "in progress" too.

Don't think we're saving too much on it either. Pretty sure I saw it locally for €45 yesterday.:(

Edit: Maybe the one I saw was an older version. Was there an older version? It definielty came with the 4 buzzers anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

    Where, Soarer? Virgin? Gamestop? Game?

Be interested to know where you saw it to as Gamestop, Xtra-Vision, Smyths all seem to be selling it at around the €60 - €70 mark.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,014 ✭✭✭Soarer

It was in Game in Mahon Point, Cork.

I'd be fairly sure twas in the 40's. I remember walking in next door to Golden Discs to see what they had in Bluray, and they had Planet Earth for around €65. I ordered that from sendit for £40, so I remember thinking I hadn't saved too much by ordering online. Then into Game to look for Army of Two, saw Scene-it, and remember thinking I didn't save too much on that either!

Edit: Just rang them there, and it's €59.99! Panic averted, and now I feel better!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

    Phew.. cheers Soarer! :D

    Bastards...!

Haven't gotten the e-mail but since mine had the same status as yours BNC ("Awaiting Manual Intervention"), i'm guessing this'll happen me also.

People overs at HotUKDeals receieved theirs without problem!

    What a joke!

Odds are they're gonna push up the price of this so!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,571 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Maybe the "Manual Intervention" guys are cancelled, and the "In Progress" guys are OK?
With the offer, they were probably flooded with orders....

Haven't recieved it yet but am just awaiting it now.

Trust the person who posted the bargain alert to not get it!

Virgin will be getting a very very angry e-mail from me later.

    Hi Basquille.

I ordered 2, so if I get them both you are welcome to one.

It's the least you deserve for your regular posts.

Very generous of you YellowDog. Might take you up on that offer as i was really looking forward to this.

Got my "order has been dispatched" email from Virgin yesterday.
    Happy daze!

£31 delivered. Definitely cheaper than locally!;)

tried to use that code but it wouldn't accept it. Scoured the web for other codes but couldn't find anything to work. Ordered it anyway as it should be a blast!! £31. hope to have it soon for some quiz madness!

Anyone recieve theirs yet, or get notifications of being despatched?

Mine still says 'Awaiting Manual Intervention' despite me e-mailing them on Tuesday asking them what was going on. No response.. their customer service shall get a bollocking if they e-mail me after this just to say "uuuhhhh... yeah... we haven't been able to source any more from our supplier so you're outta luck!"

PS - anyone know how much it is in store in Virgin? Didn't see it in my local Virgin when i was in there on Tuesday anyways.

Dunno about Virgin but, with the buzzers, it's €60 in Gamestop (Omni Park SC).

Mine still hasn't arrived, despite getting an email Monday afternoon saying it's been dispatched.
Dunno where they ship from, so not pressing any panic buttons yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,200 ✭✭✭✭Basq

Virgin are pretty fast at delivery in my experience, so i'd expect it Monday or Tuesday.

They still haven't e-mailed me back, the feckers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 425 ✭✭BNC

How did you email them, did you respond to the email they send you?

I replied to that mail but got no response. I used their "contact us" form on the main site and got a reply from that, might be woth a shot to put you out of your misery :)
