Looking for a good gym in Cork city

I recently moved to cork and felt it was time to lose some weight and get a more refined shape. However i have no idea which gyms in cork are the best, in terms of equipment and price.
Also what swimming pools are good, im not looking for a place with loads of kids or a small pool.
    And lastly..
If i were to go to the gym on say sunday for an hour, then go swimming on the tuesday and then back to the gym on thursday, would that be considered a good weekly routine or would it be best to stick just to the gym or swimming pool?

I've been using the mardyke for the last four years and it's good imo. Can get very busy during the college year though at around 6 o clock in the evening... There's one bench press, two squat racks and one platform in the weights section, so can sometimes be a bit of a wait for squatting or benching. Otherwise it's a nice gym. Early in the mornings it's usually very quiet and enjoyable. Opens from 7 to 10:30 as well on weekdays which is handy.

There's a club gym as well with loads of benches, squat racks etc that the general public aren't allowed in to, drives me mad when there's no one in there and I'm waiting to use something.

One of my mates used to train at the kingsley for football, said it was fairly nice.

I think that the Fitness Worx out in Donnybrook is one of the best gyms in cork. They've got loads of plates, plenty of oly. bars (5+) ,loads of other smaller bars, kettlebells and even a rope to climb. They've got plenty of cardio machines and there's another room where you can do stretches and mobility drills. It's the only gym I know of in Cork that I'd give my money to.

Yea I am looking at the mardyke, but also a good personal trainer as I am broke up and need a good rehab programme. I am really looking for someone with a background in sports science as I was told they would have covered rehab more in depth than a NCEF. (Sorry physio advice)
