You're not exactly overweight and none of us can tell you how much you would like to weigh. Why not start eating healthier, do more exercise and then see for yourself?! 137lbs is a "reasonable" weight.

Ok fair enough, but you're slightly going off topic of this thread..I didn't leave a thread in the Grammar secion of boards.ie did I?:)

    cas91,

Unless you're involved in a weigh dependant sport, I don't think it's a good idea to focus overly on your weight as a decent measure of fitness.

You also mentioned that your friends are skinnier than you. I do get that there is massive pressure on girls being ideal size (and please, I'm not trying to be patronising in any way) but it's best if you do concentrate on diet and exercise.

Are you exercising? What's your diet like? If you eat a lot of carbs such as bread, pasta, potatoes, chips, this won't help.

Perhaps if you post your regular diet we could help with that. Or if you'd like exercise prescriptions?

    Colm

No no your not being patronizing its fine :)
Anyway, I excersise a lot... like I'm not unfit by all means I play hockey and go to the gym three times a weeek.
You see I either eat loads or nothing if you get me, like some weeks I would eat say an apple for lunch, then dinner and thats all ( I don't agree with that by the way I've just tried it as a way of losing weight) but then other times I would eat lots of sweet things like jellies (I have a very big sweet tooth)..
I don't over eat though.. like bing or anything I just need to establish a steady healthy eating programme if you get me?? And it more my legs I'm focusing on because in fairness my stomach is flat enough and my arms aswel..
I suppose the obvious would be jogging but is ther any other excersise that focus's on the bottom half of the body more than the top?
    Thanks for your help

I fail to see your problem.

You're 5'7" and 137 lbs, which is slim enough and you do the above. It sounds like only your diet is lacking and I'm certainly no expert in that area.

If you're doing Hockey to any decent level well that's your legs taken care of. I would venture that Hockey players do as much running as any other field sport.

Don't be judging yourself by your friends. Don't be worrying how other people see you (or how you think other people see you).

I think I'll leave this thread at that haha it seems to be going nowhere thanks everyone though ;)

Squats and lunges would work your lower body/core more and help you out. Also skipping is another good one.

What are you currently doing in the gym?

Stabilise your diet - you know yourself you need to build a routine so that would help.

LMAO - come on that was funny.

Hhaaha don't really see the joke there transformer..
anyway thanks Colm... bascially I do 25 mins cross trainer, 20 mins rower, 20 mins bicycle,... sumtimes a bit on the cross trainer! i also do arobics every wek.
In fairness though I have only recently taken up all this extra curicular excersise..... and I havn't been to the Gym in a few weeks because I'm out on wrk experience, the gyms in school.. etc
But yeah I've tried squats.. you see my legs seem more toned but not skinnier.. I was just one of those people who wasn't blessd with good legs!

This is one of those times when I genuinely mean "pics plz". (Please don't OP)

You sound fine tbh; reasonable weight, exercising, toned legs... you hardly want to go for the Victoria Beckham look do you?

Sorry just wondering... what does OP stand for?? Im guessing Original post or something?

    Nearly: original poster.

And it doesn't seem like you need to lose weight at all. Don't make the same mistake I did when I was your age - believing that I was a bit chubby when I was actually a skinny minnie. Instead of appreciating it and celebrating it, I restricted myself because of this ridiculous notion of mine. I even embarked on a scary starvation route but thankfully that never took off.

Yeah and I appreciate your concern etc but don't worry I'm not on the way to an ED or anything I aint no skinny minnie haha!!
And I'd never go down the starvation route either... just want to establish a healthier diet..
