    Hey everyone,
I was just wondering what everyones opinions were on the above supplements. My understanding is that they all have the same basic aim but im unsure which one to settle on.Ive tried NO Explode and NO Shotgun:

NO Explode - I found this very good. Tastes great. Good focus, trained really well. As a few people have said to me the effect can be a bit shakey(as in you can almost feel your arm trembling) and it can sit badly on the stomach if you take it early in the morning. Overall though i found it good.

NO Shotgun - Just bought this on Saturday. As i said i like NO Explode but its good to change things about now and then. Monday and Tuesday i went for one scoop and while i felt the effect im fairly undecided about how good it was. Alot of people have told me they find it different to NO Explode less intense but that they get more pump from it. Im not sure if im explaining that well. Im going to try one and a half scoops tonight and see how i get on(Wednesdays normally my rest day but im heading away for a few days tomorrow so want to get a session in).Tastes a bit crazy but im not too worried about that. So basically im undecided.

Nutrition X ExplodeII - Havent tried it but i like Nutrition X's Big Whey so im assuming they it would be a decent supplement.

    Has anyone tried all three?
    How so people find them?
Im pretty much trying to decide whether to stick with Shotgun for a bit, go back to Explode or give ExplodeII a try!

    Cheers

All 3 are good. Xplode II has added amino acids and a higher amount of citriline mallate.
Shock Therapy from Universal is also top quality.

Supplementation with citrulline malate has been demonstrated to increase levels of arginine and ornithine (Callis et al., 1991) which are both important amino acids for muscle growth and have been shown to influence growth hormone levels. Arginine has many important roles within the body such as the production of nitric oxide which is important for increasing blood flow and oxygen delivery to muscles, and also increasing the rate of muscle growth.

Malate is believed to enhance the level of ATP (energy molecules) production through aerobic metabolism (Bendahan et al., 2002).

Citrulline malate has been used clinically to improve recovery from physical activity in patients with acute diseases (Creff, 1989). Research has demonstrated that citrulline malate has a protective effect against increased blood acidity and protects against ammonia poisoning (Callis et al., 1991). Supplementation with citrulline malate increases the rate of ammonia clearance without affecting ammonia accumulation during bicycle exercise (Vanuxem et al., 1990). This is because citrulline is involved in the urea cycle and therefore plays a role in the detoxification of ammonia.

Supplementation with citrulline malate has been shown to increase levels of bicarbonate (an acid buffer that soaks up lactic acid molecules) (Callis et al., 1991). This may allow you to exercise at a higher level before the negative effects of increased acidity affect exercise performance.

The research by Benedahan et al., 2002, demonstrated the great potential of citrulline malate supplementation to enhance aerobic performance. The most important finding of their research was that there was significantly more energy produced aerobically (34% increase). But they also found a significant reduction in the sensations of fatigue and found that rate of recovery, as measured by the rate of phospho-creatine recovery, improved by 20%. The researchers concluded that the increased aerobic ATP production, together with a reduced proportion of anaerobic energy supply, may contribute to the lower levels of fatigue experienced by the subjects.

Therefore, citrulline malate may be useful for all athletes for maintaining energy levels, improving recovery, enhancing exercise performance and fatigue resistance

    How safe are these things?

I know nothing about them but it does sound a bit mad/very intense.

How useful would it be to someone relatively new to lifting weights? Would I be wasting my time.....is it more fore more advanced/serious bodybuilders?

    ^^Waste of time.

Save your money for food. Learn how to eat to and train to gain first.

YEah, no point in using all the tricks now.

Just train hard and follow a "see food" diet and you'll pack on plenty of muscle. Then when the time comes and you hit a plateau, you'll still have some tricks up your sleeve.

I've gone through a few tub's of No Explode and find it great, but tried No Shootgun last time and for some reason it just doesn't agree with me. My stomach feels queasy having taken it- actually vomited a small bit once- that said it's definetly good stuff but I won't be buying it again.
